Dems Slam Christmas Eve Migrant Drop-Off at VP’s House

Democrats harshly criticize Texas Governor. The Hill reported that Greg Abbott bused illegal migrants to Washington, D.C., where Vice President Kamala Harris was staying. The Hill reported this Sunday.

Abdullah Hasan, White House assistant press secretary, stated that Abbott left children by the roadside in sub-freezing temperatures on Christmas Eve. He did not coordinate with federal or local authorities. “This was a cruel and dangerous act of vengeance.”

This was just the latest protest by Abbott and other Republican governors against the Biden administration’s immigrant policy.

ABC 7 reported that three busloads of migrants arrived at the official residence of the vice president on Saturday. They were wrapped in blankets and kept warm in below-freezing temperatures.

The Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network took the migrants to a church where they provided assistance.

Amy Fischer, a volunteer for the organization, said that it “really does show the cruelty behind Gov. Abbott’s insistence on busing people here without any care” added that the migrants “don’t have clothes for such weather and they’re freezing.”

Republican governors have defended this tactic, arguing that it highlights the problems border communities face by forcing northern states and cities to deal with the crisis Republicans claim they created.

New York Democrat Rep. Ritchie Torres slammed Abbot on Twitter, writing that Abbott claimed to be a pro-life Christian’ but showed no concern for the lives and safety of children left in the cold of Christmas Eve. Dropping migrants off in 18-degree weather is so cruel it should be considered criminal.

Texas Democrat Rep. Joaquin Castro criticized Abbott in a similar manner. He tweeted that Abbott was “worthless @GovAbbott dropping people without money and no means on Christmas Eve, in 15 degree weather close to the VP’s residence.” Greg Abbott, how Christian! You won’t be the next Republican president if you are a heartless POS.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) added his criticism via Twitter. He wrote, “Guess what Greg Abbott, a practicing’ Roman Catholic would have treated Jesus and Mary.”
