Biden takes swipe at Second Amendment supporters: ‘You need F-15s’ to take on the federal government
Monday’s President Biden stated that those who claim they need assault weapons in order to defeat the government must have a larger arsenal.
Biden mocked his conservative colleagues at the National Action Network’s Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast.
He said, “I love my right-wing buddies who talk about how the tree of liberty water is water of the blood patriots.” F-15s are needed if you want to take on the federal government. An AR-15 is not necessary.
Biden’s quote refers back to Thomas Jefferson who wrote in a letter: “The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time-to-time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Jefferson is the principal author of America’s Declaration of Independence.

“I’m serious. He said, “Think about it.” Think about the reason for this. It’s all about money.
The president stated that so-called “assault weapons” have no “social redeeming value.”
Biden previously stated that gun-rights activists need a larger arsenal of weapons in order to defeat the federal government. Biden stated that in order to defeat gun violence, “you need weapons to take down the government. You need F-15s, maybe some nuclear weapons.”
He also claimed that there were always limits to the Second Amendment in the same speech.
“The Second Amendment has limited who can own guns and what weapons you can own since its passage. A cannon could not be purchased.
Biden stated, “The point being that there has always existed the ability to limit — rationally limit– the type of weapon that can and can’t be owned”
These claims were repeatedly made by Biden over the years and have been examined and proven false. 1934 was the first year of federal gun regulation.
