COUNTDOWN TO Z-DAY Russia ‘massing 1,800 tanks, 700 aircraft & 500k men for new Ukraine assault in 10 DAYS’ after Zelensky begs UK for jets
Ukraine warned that Russia has hundreds of thousands of soldiers and thousands of tanks in readiness for a new offensive.
Vladimir Putin is thought to be planning a major offensive to coincide with the first anniversary in February of the war.
Ukraine continues to monitor the military buildup and plead for Western support, including yesterday’s visit to London by Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky thanked the UK for their support, but warned that it might not be enough and called for modern fighter aircraft.
It is believed that the new wave of attacks will be much more powerful than the one that swept across Ukraine towards Kyiv just one year ago.
According to a Ukrainian official, Russia has 1,800 tanks and 3,950 armored vehicles, as well as 400 fighter jets, 300 helicopters, and 300 helicopters, for the attack.
Reports Foreign Policy, Putin also has 2,700 artillery guns as well as 810 rocket launchers in preparation for a “new wave” of attacks.
The official stated that it was “much bigger than what happened in the first wave”.
“They don’t pay attention to casualties or losses. We expect a new, massive invasion within the next 10 days.”
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the number of soldiers involved in the spring offensive is between 300,000. and 500,000.
Russia is believed have 300,000 troops operating in Ukraine.
It is believed that another 200 000 men will be called up from recent mobilizations to join the offensive.
However, Pentagon officials claim that new Russian troops have been “rushed” to the frontline and are “ill-equipped and ill-trained”.
Kyiv is concerned that Putin may also organize a new round to mobilize his forces in support of the assault.
Western analysts and officials in Ukraine have warned for weeks of a possible invasion from the East.
According to Andriy Chernyak of Ukraine’s military intelligence, the Kyiv Post, “We have observed that the Russian occupation forces are deploying additional assault units, units, weapons, and military equipment.”
According to Ukrainian military intelligence, Putin gave the order for the seizing of all territories in Donetsk and Luhansk by March.
Bakhmut has been the focus of fighting in recent weeks. This battle has been called the “bloodiest” war of the war, as frontline soldiers live for just 4 hours.
Vlad launched an initial attack on Kyiv last February, which saw his forces storm towards Kyiv. They were eventually repelled by the Ukrainians.
The counteroffensive was launched by Ukraine, which liberated large swathes from the Russians.
The winter brought an end to the conflict.
In recent weeks, it was reported that the Russians are beginning to gain.
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, March will be very muddy due to high temperatures. Both sides might consider avoiding major offensives.
However, the MoD cautioned that “political and operational opportunities” could be overridden by perceived ones, such as Russia’s invasion in February.
Yesterday, President Zelensky delivered a powerful speech that was historic as he visited Britain for the first time since war. He invoked the spirit Winston Churchill.
Do you feel that evil will fall again? I can see it in your eyes that we think the exact same way you do. We are certain freedom will prevail. “We know Russia will lose,” stated Zelensky.
We know full well that victory will bring about a world change. This is something that the world has been long in need of.
“The United Kingdom is marching alongside us towards the most, I believe, the most significant victory of our lives. It will triumph over the very idea and concept of war.
“When we win together, any aggressor no matter how big or small will know what lies ahead if he attacks the international order.
“Any aggressor who will push the boundaries of force and inflict death and destruction on other peoples, and who will attempt to endure his dictatorship at other people’s expense in criminal and unprovoked conflicts as the Kremlin.”
“Any aggressor will lose.”
Putin is likely to seek some kind of major victory or new operation to commemorate the anniversary, with his future tied to the outcome of the war.
Ukraine claims that more than 135,000 Russians have died on the war’s muddy fields.
Vlad’s forces were defeated and any hope of a quick victory are now dead.
Despite the staggering losses, it is believed that Russia’s army has more than one million soldiers and two million reservists.
Sergei Shoigu, Putin’s defense boss, has also announced plans to increase the number of active personnel by one and a quarter million starting in 2023.
