In a speech, President Joe Biden criticized stabilizing braces. He claimed that a brace made a gun more dangerous by increasing the caliber of the weapon.

“Made buying stabilize braces harder.” Biden stated that if you put a pistol onto a brace it becomes a gun. This allows for a more powerful weapon and bullet to be fired.

Social media users mocked Biden’s false claim.

Recently, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (ATF), changed the rules for stabilizing braces so that they now must be registered at the federal agency. The brace was designed originally to assist people with disabilities in being able to shoot.
