The Mask Comes Off Anthony Fauci’s Pandemic Response

There is so much to be angry about and so little time. It would seem that, given the fact that the COVID-19 Pandemic is still relatively recent, and especially in the United States of America, the news that was released on Friday would have elicited a public response at atomic level.

The other outrage was the banana republic court ruling in Lower Manhattan, which was micromanaged by Juan Merchan (a Joe Biden donor) and the trial judge. News about Dr. Anthony Fauci’s pandemic guilt barely registered as a blip.

In January, the top medical advisor at the White House during the COVID epidemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), testified behind closed doors in a session of the House Select Subcommittee for the Coronavirus Pandemic. The transcript of the hearing was published last Friday.

The response to this pandemic was essentially bovine excrement. This included the masks, social distance, separation of families, 6-foot spacing signs that were graffitied across the nation, plexiglass wall separating people from one another, and closed schools. Everything. The policy was utterly devoid of any science. Anthony Fauci, his team and Fauci themselves made it up on the fly. Fauci was enjoying this power trip.

In the National Review article on the release of transcripts, Dr. Fauci admits nonchalantly that masking – in this case child masking – that has caused such damage to a generation’s child development is not based on any scientific evidence. Fauci said that.

Fauci also conceded, on the second day of testimony, that there is no scientific evidence supporting the masking of children in order to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus.

Fauci was asked by a member of staff, “Do you remember reviewing any studies or statistics that support masking children?”

I’m not sure, Mitch. Fauci responded, “I might have.”

Remember that this was Anthony Fauci, speaking on 60 Minutes, before the pandemic took hold. He spoke about the effectiveness of masking.

This policy continued for more than two years. It included masking and double masking. You could mask alone inside, in your car or even mask children as young two-years-old.

Here’s a transcript of the Washington Post article on social distancing.

Fauci, in a transcript of an interview published Friday, said that it “just appeared” that six feet would be the distance. Fauci was testifying to Congress during a closed-door session held in January. Fauci described the recommendation as an “empirical decision” that was not based on data.

Francis S. Collins (former director of the National Institutes of Health) also testified privately to Congress in January, that he did not know the evidence supporting the social distancing recommendations, according to transcripts released in May.

The six-foot rule is still visible four years after its introduction, especially in cities who adopted the CDC guidelines to protect their residents and to keep businesses open. Signs in D.C., in schools and stores — or even on the sidewalks of government buildings — urge people to keep six feet between them.

In 2020, my step-son was in his freshman year of high school when the pandemic struck. The Chinese New Year Parade downtown San Francisco was one of his last school events. We knew that the flu was spreading in the States and that he played the trumpet in the marching band. But we still went. We were shocked to see that the crowd was only one-third of its usual size. A few weeks later, the school was closed and remote learning was implemented for the remainder of the year and the first half year of his sophomore.

Double masking was recommended and no band was immediately available when the school reopened to classroom learning. After much negotiation between the school district and the county, state, and federal officials as well as the band director and the school, the band finally was allowed to perform under one condition: the students were not allowed to play music indoors. It could only be performed outdoors, with 12-foot spacing between students/instruments. All bell instruments, including horns, had to be fitted with elastic cloth screens to stop COVID from flying out in B flat.

The masks were worn by musicians until the very last moment before they played. They could then pull the mask down, play their part and immediately mask up. Some masks had slits in the mouth to allow the mouthpiece of an instrument to fit through. This was all strictly enforced or the program could be shut down. The testimony of Dr. Fauci revealed that the entire policy was issued by bureaucrats from all levels of the government, who lacked any science, data or anything to support it. They were just winging the policy.

Have you heard a band trying to play together a hundred yards from the other end of the stadium, with a distance of twelve feet? I’ve heard it. It’s a bit thin. Our high school band director retired early in 2021 because of the restrictions and headaches he had to endure just so that kids could play music.

Fauci, who was on TV until April 2022, still threatened to put on the masks.

Fauci’s fear mongering was based on a lack of scientific evidence.

In the transcript for January, vaccines were also mentioned. Full disclosure: I had COVID twice. Both times I took ivermectin and recovered immediately. I had the two-dose initial vaccine and one booster. I have not experienced any negative effects and won’t comment on the debate surrounding alternative treatment options or vaccines. I’m not against vaccines or any treatment that can help fight the virus. Here is what Dr. Fauci had to say about vaccines in the House Select Committee transcript:

Dr. Fauci acknowledged that mandates for vaccines during the COVID-19 Pandemic may increase vaccine hesitancy. He claimed that the mandates had not been sufficiently researched before the pandemic. Dr. Fauci had previously advocated that “when you make life difficult for people, they lose their ideology bullshit and get vaccinated.”

Majority Counsel: Do you believe mandating vaccinations can lead to some hesitancy?

Dr. Fauci said: “I believe one of the things we need to do is to evaluate the situation after the event, or after the game. We need to look at what the people are feeling.
