After his conviction in Manhattan’s hush-money case last week, the former President Donald Trump will be heading west to attend events in two battleground States this week.

Turning Point Action, a conservative group, will host an event for the 45th President in Arizona on Thursday. On Sunday, Trump will hold his first rally since the guilty verdict was announced in Las Vegas.

As the Republican candidate tries to recover from his 2020 losses, polls in both states show that Trump has a significant lead over Biden.

Trump’s wide margin can be attributed in part to his hardline approach on illegal immigration. Both Sun Belt states have been hit hard by the influx of migrants crossing the southern border.

According to RealClearPolitics, Trump, aged 77, is ahead of Biden, age 81, in a five way match-up in Arizona that includes third-party candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Jill Stein and Cornel.

According to RCP, Trump is ahead of Biden in Nevada by an average 5.4 points out of five candidates.

Biden’s border policies have led to Arizonans being victims of migrant crimes. In October 2023, ICE detained an illegal immigrant who was wanted by Border Patrol for terrorism. This occurred weeks after Border Patrol had released him. Arizona families also lost an average of $29,053 due to Bidenflation. Inflation was over 22,2%, and monthly costs increased by $1,200.

Biden’s victory in Arizona for 2020 was only the second time since 1952 that the Grand Canyon State backed a Democrat as president.

Nevada, however, hasn’t been in the Republican column ever since George W. Bush was re-elected in 2004.

Trump’s last visit to Nevada was in January. He won the Republican-run state caucus in Nevada with 99.1% of the vote, while Nikki Haley – his main rival at that time – registered for the nonbinding primary.

The Republican Senate Primary, scheduled for June 11, coincides with his Vegas visit.

Trump is yet to choose a candidate. Former Army Captain Sam Brown and state senator Jim Marchant are fighting for the nomination.

In announcing the event, Trump’s campaign stated that the Nevada rally would “lay out the choices” for Nevada and the United States.

The announcement stated that “President Trump puts America first by putting our economy on the right path for working families and lowering inflation, as well as the cost of living.” “President Trump is going to secure our border and make cities safer again. With his peace-through-power agenda, President Trump will restore our respect in the eyes of the world. Americans are joining together in a way they have never done before to make America great again.

Biden also visited Silver Staters in February and march to make his case.

In an attempt to boost Biden’s poll numbers, both Vice President Kamala Harris (left) and First Lady Jill Biden (right) have made appearances in Nevada.
