Biden to waive penalties for undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens

President Biden plans to announce plans that will allow hundreds of thousands undocumented immigrant married to U.S. citizen to apply for legal residence.

Officials in the administration said that President Biden would open the door on Tuesday to hundreds of thousands undocumented immigrants who are married to U.S. Citizens to apply for legal residence under one of the largest immigration programs of his tenure.

This policy change is a bold step for the Democratic President months before the elections in November, and it’s a rebuke for congressional Republicans, who ignored his calls for border security expansion and for a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrant living in the United States for many years.
