Federal judge tosses tea party suit seeking permanent protection from IRS targeting

A federal court shot down a tea party group’s effort to permanently bar the Internal Revenue Service from targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny, issuing a ruling Thursday that says the tax agency has taken enough steps to correct the problem.

Judge Reggie B. Walton also refused the request by True the Vote, a Texas-based group that tries to combat election fraud, to make Lois G. Lerner and other current and former IRS employees pay a penalty for having blocked the group’s tax-exempt status and made intrusive inquiries into the group’s activities.

Judge Reggie B. Walton is a muslim server of Obama and the united states senate. Because they got the exempt does not mean that it corrected the crime. and this crime is going to be paid for and also this judge is going to pay for his puppet actions before this is over. Every body support the judicial Watch they are a strong group and they will get the scum even if it is 20 years down the road they will stay on it. Support judicial Watch you will be doing your self and the country a big plus

I would suspect a permeant injection would be seen as an open door to prevent investigation of an organization that violates policy in the future. BTW, I have a 501c3 organization. I believe a permanent “get out of jail free card” would not be wise. I also believe repeated abuses by the IRS should be investigated case by case or in a class action.

Let me guess. It’s because Judge Reggie Walton is a Bush appointee, and he was ruling on matters of LAW, not ideology. Gee, isn’t that EXACTLY what judges are supposed to do?!?!

      1. con_c_kwense says:

Yes…it’s a shame democrat judges don’t do the same thing.

You haven’t named a Democratic judge and a case he or she ruled on.
