Gov. Kasich in the Abortion Debate Spotlight

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who built a reputation during the raucous GOP presidential primaries as an affable and moderate alternative, is suddenly finding himself at the center of the national abortion debate — and under pressure to cast a decision bound to make him more unpopular with one side or the other.

Two bills passed by the legislature await his signature or veto. If signed into law, they would become two of the most restrictive time-based abortion measures in the country.

The more controversial is known as the “heartbeat bill.” It would ban abortion as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected — roughly around the six-week mark. The second prohibits abortions after the 20-week mark in almost all circumstances.

Kasich, who said during the Republican presidential primaries that he’s “pro-life with the exceptions of rape, incest and the life of the mother,” faces a looming deadline for a decision.

After receiving the bills, he has 10 days to sign or veto.

If he does nothing, the bills become law. However, with the “heartbeat bill” which passed as an amendment to another measure, the governor could use his line item veto and nix only the amendment.

They all say pro life ant anti abortion and pro choice. When a woman allows herself to get pregnant she made that choice. When she decides to have an abortion that is her decision. The more abortion and less taxpayer supported babies, the better.
Lets not forget pro choice means the woman’s choice and unless she was raped it was her choice and for women to get huffy and say it is as much the mans fault as it is hers is just insane. The woman controls the birth control, and she has a say in if a condom is used as far as the STD problem. Wake up america and get your head out of your ___.

Shall we go back to the 1972 and make birth control illegal for single women again?

Unborn children in America have the constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Irresponsible and/or negligent parents, and societal failure to provide for them do not impinge on their constitutional rights.

Each human life is distinct – with DNA unique in the universe.

Abortion worldwide is estimated to have terminated 1.4 billion lives.

Only God knows the staggering loss to human advancement of this holocaust.

If he does nothing, the bills become law. Probably his best choice.

  • Tiger says:

Abortion has been wrapped up in such pretty packaging and tied up with such pretty bows girls/woman think it nothing worse than cutting your toe nails. Getting rid of something that is worthless and only a burden to your life. It is not until it is opened up that the putrid truth shows it’s ugly head. When the girl/woman goes to the abortion clinic and goes through the procedure and realizes some times years later, that she suffered consequences either emotionally or physically that they question their decision.

Nobody wants to call it what it is. I have even had these people say this “thing” is not even alive until it is born. Now witnessing the “Trump Madness” I have seen with my own eyes, in riots, at colleges and all over this country, irrational and hysterical individuals who make up this particular breed of people. The “Me,Me,Me”, “I,I,I”, “It is MY BODY to Hell with the man”, “Give me”, “I want”, “It is not a baby, it is a glob of cells”, on and on.

In the meantime due to this blind eye to horrendous truth America’s
girls/women slaughter millions of not “things” but potential human
beings. Perhaps it is this attitude of “things” that interfere with our
lives that we see such immense cruelty to animals and the elderly.
Until they find themselves someday the “things” in the way and

When the Democrats, every single on of them voted for abortion at 9 months I knew what they were. When Debbie Washmymouthout with Chitz said abortion at any stage is OK all of it, I knew what they were. We were more civilized in the Stone Ages than now.

Many think abortion is merely cosmetic surgery, equating an unborn child to Liposuction.

    2. James says:

Excellent comment; you live up to your moniker! America has far too much blood on its hands, and far too many “conservatives” are just as guilty for not speaking out against this form of holocaust.

      1. Tiger says:

Thank you I just get tired of the propaganda put out there to make this look like some simple procedure and most of the woman are not allowed to see the fetus on sonogram before making the decision. Not only that people who could council them on adoption etc are not allowed in most of these clinics. Also the baby body part selling trial of the videos was called off because the video were found to be true. Planned Parenthood is all over the world and their main money is made in abortions.

        1. Askjrsk says:

It is a huge thing that can bring DESTRUCTION to all involved.

          1. Tiger says:

As an RN for close to 30 years, working in all fields at one time or another, I saw many women with much regret for abortions, one or several then knowing they couldn’t have children. This is a dark cloud over our country that needs to let the sunshine through and by the way needs to be shown in films during sex classes in schools. It is not right for girls/women not to understand the procedures and the truth. But then if you keep them from knowing it is not a “Thing” but a potential human being, from conception to birth then these clinics might not be making so much money.

          2. Askjrsk says:

Here is where you can find all the videos. If you never saw them and by the way during the PP investigations the Democrats had not viewed one of these video and the Republicans viewed them all plus at the end of the hearing, the Democrats promised to watch them and never did.

Too boot the company that validated the videos was well known and validated all 14, while the people who said they were fake only watched a few and was not a huge company but a shill for the Democrat party.

        1. James says:

Thank you for the link. Especially a few years down the road and these women can’t pick up the crying baby or give their love and AND comfort to their child their flesh and blood which haunts and gives incredible pain and hurt that cannot be remedied. These emotions can lead to insanity because nothing can touch them where this incredible loss destroys them. Faith and forgiving themselves helps bring healing to some.

Great post, passionate and from the heart hitting the hearts of all that read it. Thank you. I believe the “Not Knowing” exactly what they are doing makes it easier for them to not be concerned because if we saw the results of what lays on the table after the abortion then it wouldn’t be so easy.

    4. Wingedgodd3ss says:

Wow. Thank you for expressing so perfectly the truths and what would have taken me hours if ever to articulate. Somehow feminists in their quest for importance and validity have decided that murder should be something only they can get away with. Very sad.

      1. Tiger says:

Welcome and thank you for the compliment. In all honesty I must add I can see in cases of incest, rape or the mother’s life in danger, which is rare abortion being considered. But always it should be taken seriously and if done, done early and with remorse for having had to do such a thing. Grieving should be part of killing an embryo or fetus because it is ending what would be a human life.

  • justinwachin says:

The heartbeat bill makes sense. For years abortion supporters have tried to make it sound like they were removing a lifeless glob. Once the child has a beating heart it makes sense it also has the ability to feel pain and to sense its surroundings.

The governor should sign both bills. I’m sure both will be challenged in court. It will be interesting to see how abortion providers are able to claim that a beating heart doesn’t mean that the baby is alive.

  • bobnstuff says:

The six week bill will cost the state money to defend and even a conservative court might strike it down. The twenty week bill is the moderate thing to do and more likely to stand up in the SCOUS. Although he could just say that this is government over reach and not their business.

    1. Tiger says:

The abortion rate in this country has become so huge yearly that it is the business of every single man/woman of conscience to get involved.

“The only way for evil to win is for good men to do nothing”. Or something like that.

      1. bobnstuff says:

Abortions are at there lowest rate since 1970. Outlawing doesn’t stop it, it just makes it more dangerous. If you really cared about stopping it you would try to prevent the causes of them. States with good sex ed and good family planning centers have lower rate then the states that just make them hard to get. If you want to talk about evil, turning your back on people in need might rate right up there. Passing laws is the lazy way out. In our country we punish children for being born poor. The so called pro life people are really just pro birth, once the baby is born it’s no longer a problem.

        1. Tiger says:

I don’t discuss this with any of you. I put my opinion out there and leave it. All it is is a dead end street. You trying to tell me that abortion rate lower and me telling you still America number one in the world for abortions and only one of a few countries that allow late term abortion, then I give sources and you give sources. Waste of time and don’t pull that crap about sex education it has been around since I was in Junior High and that was a helluva long time ago. There is more methods of birth control today and any woman can go to a local state run or county run clinic and get it and that goes for girls also. So BS to that.

Hard to get, surely you jest I am an RN for close to 30 years and like I said there are county and state clinics galore in the front of every phone book in every town across this country with pages and pages of information where to go for women’s health etc. I believe in abortion for rape, incest or if mother’s health in danger and that is rare by the way. Women of all ages know when they have had unprotected sex so take the Morning After pill.

We are never going to see eye to eye and it is a waste of your time and mine. Have a good day.

          1. bobnstuff says:

As I said in the beginning I don’t like abortions, If just passing a law would take away the suffering of people over this it would be great. The only way to stop people from having them is to take away their need for them. Make raising a child a honor. Give mothers the help they need to raise children without the stigma of needing help. Make childcare affordable. Make deadbeat parents support their children. Give real sex education, not the useless stuff from thirty years ago. Support families, make it possible for people to take time to be a family instead of having to have both parents work just to pay the bills. Abortions are not because people hate babies, it;s because they fear trying to raise children.

          2. Tiger says:

Raising a child is an honor.
Mother’s have programs and they get plenty for those children. I know, I have young women all around me on the programs and making plenty. Giving them more would only encourage more children. Give them education and a job.
Children are affordable if you work and support them like my 3 children do.
Fathers supporting their children are giving so much they can’t even live a decent life. Make the woman accountable for where they spend the money they get.
Real sex education if it gets any more real will have a man and woman having sex on a table.
Families are to support themselves by working. They have Holidays and bonuses the answer is not useless degrees but useful degrees, Technology, Medical, plumbers, electricians, so forth and so on, tax payers don’t need to give anymore money to people who don’t help themselves.

Abortions are too many and the key is all of the above. You should love Trump he is working to see that Americans work again. You give someone food you feed them for one day teach them a profession or how to work at a good paying profession you feed them for a lifetime.

            Handouts don’t work.

          3. bobnstuff says:

Do you listen to yourself, giving them more would encourage them to having more children. Giving them less encourages them to kill more babies. Isn’t the idea to stop people from ending unwanted children? I like the give them an education and a job. Who will raise those children if both parents or that single parent is working two jobs just to pay the rent? You support education but voted for the man who just appointed a anti public education supported as head of the Department of Education and voted against the person who wanted to make education affordable. No degree is worthless, I was an English major and used the skills I learn in college to start and run four business and manage a number of others. It’s not what you learn, it’s learning how to learn that a university education gives you.

Bolder Co. did a excremental sex education program that cut unwanted pregnancies, it worked but the funds were cut so things are going back to normal there.

          4. Tiger says:

Listen kiddo I not only listen to myself I spread that independence, responsibility and our Republic every chance I get and as far as Trump goes Thank God at last a Real President. I hate Public Education and the proof of what it has become dumping out little Socialist dummies has been seen in schools across this country and in colleges.

I am an RN and have a Teaching Degree. Yes it matters what your degree is in there is not much use for philosophy majors or poets etc. You have to make choices to make money.

Sex is one of the most powerful drugs. The brain may say no but the hormones say yes and the hormones win as often as not. We as a society no longer value children as we once did. Big families were once needed and a good thing. Now if you see someone with a bunch of kids you wonder if they are on welfare and have them to get more money. As a country we value things and money over family and children. Why are our schools always trying to find ways to save money? We cut programs that enrich our world to save a buck. If a as a society we doesn’t value our children you can’t blame people for throwing them away. It’s not family values, it’s valuing the family that counts.

    2. James says:

Actually; even the six week bill is not enough. The only being Who has a right to abort is The Almighty, no matter what the circumstance!

  • rodstew says:

Jeremiah 1:5, Bible: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…” This verse is one of the reasons why liberals want to take religion out of government. They cannot say one is NOT a person until they take a breath. Abortion is murder. Before you liberals get your collective panties in a wad, the 1st Amendment prohibits the ESTABLISHMENT of a religion. As far as I know, Christianity was ESTABLISHED way, way back in the 1st century when Jesus Christ was living. The 1st Amendment protects religion from the government, NOT the government from religion. A nuance feeling liberals cannot understand with their “feelings,;” feelings always get lost when critical thinking skills are required.

    1. bobnstuff says:

Even though I’m not a believer in abortion I think you have the first amendment wrong, it is meant to keep religion out of government. You need to remember that a number of our founding fathers were not Christians.

      1. mudguy1 says:

No you are wrong it as to keep government out of religion. Almost all of them believed in GOD.

      2. James says:

READ MUDGUY1’S COMMENT and then get your self a copy of the Amendments. The object was to prevent American government from becoming like other countries; which forced their people to belong to only one religious belief. Outlawing all others!

        1. bobnstuff says:

First Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the making
of any law respecting an establishment of religion, ensuring that there
is no prohibition on the free exercise of religion,

I think that this says the government must stay away form religion and that it must steer clear of using religion as it’s base for laws.

          1. James says:

The big qualifier in your above statement is
            “””I THINK”””
Doesn’t matter what you think, what matters is what their intentions were and if you read the Federalist Papers you will see that they expected government leaders to at least recognize a Higher Authority
But your first comment was correct in the fact that not all of the signers were christian, there were actually Jews in the mix as well!

          2. itsfun says:

I think you have the right idea on what it means. People must consider the way people wrote over 200 years ago.

      3. Askjrsk says:

No it was formed to keep government out of religion. A break from the Church of England and the state mandated religion. Constituents have the freedom to worship as they chose, without government interference. That was part of the liberation from England and English rule.

        1. David Fowler says:

I notice that you give yourself a thumbs up on most of your posts. Most people would consider that sort of conceited. You can go ahead and do whatever that you want, but it can be seen by anyone that looks.

            And …………….???

          2. Askjrsk says:

So you understand government is not to interfere with religion. Right?

          3. David Fowler says:

Are you saying that your religion requires you to do this? I don’t think that the government cares one way or another. I don’t care either. I was just saying that I thought that it was either silly or conceited. Take your pick.

          4. Askjrsk says:

I’m saying I don’t care what you think. Sorry you didn’t get the point.

          5. David Fowler says:

I realize that you don’t care what anyone thinks, but what does the government not interfering with religion have to do with the price of tea in China and you liking your own posts. It looks to me like the act of a conceited person. You have every right to be as conceited as you feel you must be. I won’t say any more about this.

There is a difference Bob. Abortion kills an innocent life. Capital punishment kills a person convicted of a capitol offence. Huge difference!

        1. bobnstuff says:

Is it. I thought all life is precious to God. I guess you must be not believe that part of Christs teaching.

          1. chw2000 says:

Judge not least you yourself be judged.

          2. bobnstuff says:

I’m not judging, just pointing out things here. I don’t expect everyone to share my faith so I can’t judge but it does seem interesting when people are selective about things like killing. Personal I value all human life.

          3. chw2000 says:

I think most of us value all human life. My comment was not about the value of human life nor was I defending the death penalty. My comment was to point out that you are comparing “apples to oranges”. That’s all, and providing an explanation of why i see your comment that way.

        2. Askjrsk says:

Most people can easily discern this contrast. Comparing the two minimizes the barbarism of abortion the killing of the unborn babies.

Now we will see just how pro life he is. Also we will find out if he has a spine.

    1. Wingedgodd3ss says:

It will be interesting. I’m not a fan of Kasick….

      1. Askjrsk says:

Fans are hard to find, especially in Ohio.

      3. dmttbt says:

I am not a fan of Kasick’s either . The thing is though, the politicians are setting themselves up as to whether an abortion can be had. The tax payers are more than likely going to be paying for that child from birth to death because it will end up living off the taxpayers and being on government programs for the rest of it’s life and then their children will follow the cycle.
I know a lady who wound up raising her grand daughter and her grand daughters children until she died. The Lady took her daughter to church regularly and the grand daughter eventually had four half black children by 4 different black men. You can teach them the best you can but that does nt mean they will learn.

        1. Wingedgodd3ss says:

I hear what you are saying but imo we are not qualified to determine who is worthy of life. To me that’s the issue. Yes there are problems with how people are raised but to me apples to oranges vs exterminating people we think aren’t going to make it.. The sanctity of life is paramount.

    2. AKLady2015 says:

How far back do you want to go?
1965 — Birth control was made legal for married people
1972 – Birth control was made legal for single women.
      1973 – Abortion became legal.

      1. Marlin208 says:

Just like I thought, he vetoed the bill. Spineless jackass.

        1. AKLady2015 says:

He saved his state a huge amount of unecessary legal expense. The bills in question would have been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. They were unCOnstitutional.

          1. Frank629 says:

“”UNECESSARY LEGAL EXPENCE””” You mean killing the innocent life of a baby is an “EXPENCE””.You are a sick despicable distasteful pile of dung…BTW SHOW YOUR FACE OR ARE YOU ASHAMED TO. DON’T WORRY NOBODY WILL SEE IT IN THE BASEMENT .

          2. AKLady2015 says:

            Ashamed? No.
            Stupid? No.
Why would you encourage a woman to take an action that could/would place her life in danger?

          3. Frank629 says:

your a moron .Nothing more to be said of you.

          4. AKLady2015 says:

            .Thank you.
            Your input is always welcome
It says so much about you.

          5. Frank629 says:

            thank you (sarcasm intended)

          6. Wingedgodd3ss says:

In danger how? Because the number of births that cause a risk to the mother is very low… like not even 2%….

          7. AKLady says:

The U.S. rate of 6.1 infant deaths per 1,000 live births masks considerable state-level variation. If Alabama were a country, its rate of 8.7 infant deaths per 1,000 would place it slightly behind Lebanon in the world rankings. Mississippi, with its 9.6 deaths, would be somewhere between Botswana and Bahrain.

        2. Askjrsk says:

That seems to be the word on the street.

    3. Askjrsk says:

      Or just arrogant and obnoxious.
