Hunter Biden Lawyer Sends Threatening Letter (Now He Owns It?)

A lawyer representing Hunter Biden has issued a vague threat of legal action against anyone who has contributed to disseminating false information regarding his infamous laptop.

Washington attorney Abbe Lowell, who began representing Biden in December, allegedly filed “litigation hold” letters on Wednesday to 14 individuals allegedly involved in efforts to generate publicity negative of the 53-year-old son of President Joe Biden.

Rudy Giuliani’s attorney, Robert Costello, and Giuliani’s attorney, John Paul Mac Isaac’s attorney, are among the recipients. Mac Isaac is the former owner of a computer repair firm in Delaware that received a laptop computer from Hunter Biden in 2019.

In one letter seen by POLITICO, Lowell wrote, “You have made various statements and engaged in certain acts by your own admission, or that have been publicly published by the media about our client, Robert Hunter Biden.” A litigation hold should be in force for the preservation and retention of all records and documents relating to Mr. Biden, and this letter serves as notification of that fact.

Without specifying the nature of the case or the possible defendants, Lowell said, “It may be required to produce this material in litigation.”

Lowell’s representative wouldn’t elaborate on the pending litigation or indicate whether or not Hunter Biden planned to sue.

According to one of Giuliani’s advisors, the letters were brushed off as an intimidation attempt.

The adviser, Ted Goodman, said to POLITICO, “Instead of talking with reporters and leaking this material to the press, Abbe Lowell should focus on the facts because the facts don’t support his charges.” In an effort to silence Mayor Giuliani and Mr. Costello, Mr. Lowell has once again failed. This is why he took the time to write to you all.

On Wednesday night, Costello said, “This is just another idiotic attempt to intimidate” after confirming that he, Giuliani, and former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon had all received similar letters. It’s a waste of time because it won’t work.

The current barrage of letters is the latest in a series of increasingly contentious contacts between the younger Biden’s lawyers and those involved in efforts to expose details about the purported contents of the laptop before the 2020 presidential race.

Last week, Lowell wrote to the DOJ and the attorney general of Delaware, demanding probes into multiple individuals who he believes were involved in the management of the laptop and the data it contained.

After mocking Hunter Biden’s increasingly hostile legal strategy last week, Mac Isaac’s attorney Brian Della Rocca did not respond to a message seeking comment on Wednesday.

Hunting “desperate attempts to continue to blame everyone else for his own acts,” as Della Rocca put it to the New York Post.

The Justice Department is reportedly in the final stages of evaluating whether to seek criminal charges against Hunter Biden in connection with alleged tax violations and his alleged failure to disclose his status as a drug user when registering to acquire a weapon in 2018.

When asked about the possibility of facing charges, Hunter Biden expressed confidence that he would not.

On the same day that Lowell dispatched his most recent missives, Republicans in Congress held the first of what is expected to be a series of hearings on allegations pertaining to the laptop, as well as Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and his alleged efforts to profit from influence over his father.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee convened an initial hearing on the topic of Twitter’s attempts to remove a New York Post article regarding the laptop’s purported contents from the site in the last days leading up to the 2020 election. Twitter’s administration immediately realized their knee-jerk reaction was wrong and began removing most of the restrictions they had put in place.
