James Comer Cancels Contempt Vote After FBI Caves on Alleged Biden Bribery Doc

The FBI allowed members of the Oversight Committee, 11 hours before they were to convene to vote to hold FBI Director Wray for contempt of Congress. This file was unclassified and allegedly linked President Joe Biden with a $5,000,000 bribery scam.

Comer cancelled the vote for contempt against Wray that was scheduled to take place at 9 am on Thursday morning. Comer finally got the FBI to agree to let the members review the document. This was a demand that Comer had made since the beginning of negotiations.

The committee said in a release that “after weeks of refusing even to admit the FD-1023 records exist,” “the FBI has now caved and allowed all members of Oversight and Accountability Committee review this unclassified document which memorializes a secret human source’s conversation with a foreign citizen who claimed to have bribed Vice President Joe Biden at the time.”

Comer and Chuck Grassley, R-IA, made a bombshell claim in May after reviewing an FBI FD-1023 document that documented an informant’s claims of an alleged bribery plot involving the exchange of money to influence policy decisions between then-President Joe Biden (now President) and a foreign national.

James Comer, the Chair of the House Oversight Committee (R-KY), revealed on Tuesday that FBI informants allegedly connected Joe Biden with family business dealings in Ukraine.

The FBI file was created from an interview conducted by the Bureau with an FBI informant who, according to reports, is a “highly credible” FBI source whose history dates back to the Barack Obama Administration.

The committee said that allowing all Oversight Committee Members to review the record was an important step in ensuring the FBI is held accountable and to conduct oversight.

Bill Barr, the former attorney general, dispelled on Tuesday the White House’s and House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), claim that the Justice Department had ended the bribery investigation. Raskin claimed that the Trump administration had resolved an informant’s claims.

The committee wrote: “Let’s not be confused: the allegations in this document are not closed, as the White House would have you believe,” it said. The FBI confirmed that this information is currently being used by an ongoing investigation. Former Attorney General Barr confirmed the information was sent to U.S. attorney in Delaware for a further investigation.
