JD Vance, Tim Walz Face Off in New York as World Deteriorates into Chaos

Sen. JDVance (R-OH), and Gov. Tim Walz and the Democratic nominee for Vice President will debate in New York on Tuesday night. This could be the final major event in which both major U.S. parties are involved before the November 5th election.

The debate will start at 9 p.m., moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan of CBS News. Most major TV networks will broadcast it live.

The two campaigns may not be able to agree on terms for another debate since former President Donald Trump, the GOP presidential nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate have yet to meet. The establishment and the Harris campaign have tried to entice Trump to accept a second debate. However, given that Trump is feeling good about his campaign’s progress, it seems unlikely he will give in.

On Tuesday, Vance and Walz will have to do their best on stage to present their respective tickets to the voters. The debate takes place just hours after Iran fired missiles at Israel, forcing its civilians to seek shelter. It also comes as tensions continue to rise in the Middle East after Israel killed the leader of Hezbollah, in Lebanon, and the ongoing conflict against Hamas, in Gaza. The debate comes at a time when the Russian war in Ukraine is draining American tax dollars, and crime rates are reaching historic levels in the United States. According to Department of Homeland Security figures, there are thousands of migrant killers and tens of thousand migrant criminals in the United States.

The economy is still struggling, and this is the most important thing for voters to know in this election. Harris will be in charge of the country alongside the current, but stepping outgoing president Joe Biden, who was the incumbent commander-in chief whom Harris, along with other Democrats, pushed aside after he collapsed during the debate between Trump and Harris back in June. The Longshoremen’s union is now on strike, due to Harris and Biden failing to negotiate a deal. This threatens the economy’s already fragile state, and Harris and Biden are heartless in their failure to respond properly to Hurricane Helene’s impact in North Carolina, Georgia and elsewhere.

O’Donnell’s and Brennan’s expectations are very low, given the failures of ABC News moderators David Muir & Linsey Davies in the debate between Trump & Harris this past fall. Reports suggest that CBS may even display a QR code during the debate in order to direct viewers to the website where network reporters will “fact-check” statements made by the candidates. However, knowing the establishment media this is almost certain to favor Walz and weighted towards Vance.

Walz’s history of lying would be at the forefront of any debate about the vice presidential candidates. From claiming to have served in combat, when he did not, to claiming to have been in Asia during China’s Tiananmen massacre to other lies about him-would be a major issue. Walz would also be criticized for his extreme record of policy, which is contrary to the “folksy” demeanor that Harris’ aides or establishment media often describe. Walz has a history of supporting amnesty and other radical and extremist ideas.

Vance, who is known for his ability to handle himself in debates and interviews, will likely try to cut Walz down while also using the massive national audience to bring the heat directly on Harris past Walz. Vance is well-known for his ability to manage himself in interviews and debates. He will likely try to reduce Walz to size, while using the large national audience to put the heat on Harris.
