Joe Biden Delivers Third and Possibly Final State of the Union Address

The Democrat president Joe Biden is scheduled to take the podium on Thursday evening and deliver his third State of the Union Address as President of the United States, which could be his last, depending on the results of the presidential election in November.

Biden is scheduled to deliver his address at 9 p.m. ET in front of the U.S. House Chamber. Behind him, Vice President Kamala Harria and House Speaker Mike Johnson will sit. ET. The annual address by the nation’s top executive is always a Washington pageantry. Most of the president’s Cabinet — with the exception of a designated survivor, of course — as well the most senior military advisors, the majority of Congress and the most Supreme Court justices attend in the House Chamber.

In their State of the Union speeches, presidents are often proud to highlight accomplishments from the previous year or set lofty goals for the coming year. In Biden’s situation, the speech in 2024 comes at a time when he is politically vulnerable and that of his nation. Biden’s primary general election opponent, Donald Trump, secured the Republican nomination for President on Super Tuesday, by eliminating his last remaining rival. Trump leads Biden by a wide margin in general election polls and key battleground states across the country. Biden’s disapproval ratings have reached near-record levels.

Biden’s Justice Department, through Special Counsel Robert Hur, has just decided that Biden won’t face criminal charges, as he would otherwise have, because Hur believes Biden to be too “old” and “poor in memory”. Biden’s goal on Thursday night will be to use his stage to show that doubters are wrong. He can do this easily if he sticks to the teleprompter during the entire speech.

Biden is also going to try and regain control of major issues facing the country and the world. Biden’s first target is the economy where inflation is out of control. He will use the term “Shrink-Flation” to shift the blame from him and his Democrats failed policies. But that is not the only area in which Biden is going to play the blame-game on Thursday. When it comes immigration, Biden is sure to blame Trump and Republicans for the influx of immigrants because they blocked a bipartisan Senate deal on foreign aid negotiated, among other people, by Sen. James Lankford, R-OK. Biden will blame that on a factually incorrect basis, as the Lankford agreement would have only made the situation worse.

Trump says that he will be providing live commentary on Biden’s lies and fact-checking them throughout the speech via his Truth Social page. Trump’s reply is more important than “official” Republican responses from Sen. Katie Britt, R-AL, a choice of retiring Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell(R-KY), and Johnson who will give her own speech afterwards.

Biden’s State of the Union speech will reveal how he handles the nonsensical argument he and his closest advisors told the New Yorker that they expect to become the centerpiece of his reelection bid in 2024: the absurd claim that Republicans and Trump pose a threat against democracy. How political Biden gets in this speech, and how it is received after the fact, could very well determine whether Trump maintains or expands his general election-season-opening lead in the race for the White House.

Breitbart News will provide you with the latest news and analysis during and after the speech.

UPDATE: 10:59 pm ET:

Britt’s speech is hard to understand because she sounds like a woman about to cry.

UPDATE: 10:56 pm ET:

Katie Britt, R-AL, is launching the GOP response. She is giving her speech in Montgomery, Alabama.

Britt calls Biden a “permanent political” who has been in office for “longer than I have been alive.”

Britt smiles, but also seems nervous when she gives her response. Britt’s moment was also ruined by the leak of talking points before Britt delivered her response.

UPDATE: 10:47 pm ET:

Tucker Carlson has just responded to Biden’s State of the Union.

UPDATE: 10:35 pm ET:

Biden is finally done with this travesty, a partisan attack speech. Jake Tapper, CNN’s chief political analyst, said he had “never” heard a State of the Union speech with so many partisan criticisms of the president’s main political opponent.

UPDATE: 10:30 p.m. ET:

Biden is about finish his speech and the crowd cheers at the end of the travesty.

UPDATE: 10:27 pm ET:

Biden now claims that the Chinese Communist Party has never been stronger than it is today because he’s in the White House. He is lying completely and utterly about China to try to make the claim that he is fighting them. This section is full of lies.

UPDATE: 10:24 pm ET:

Biden then attacks the Hamas terrorists who attacked Israel and promises to bring Hamas prisoners home. This rare bipartisan applause is a response to his words. He says Israel also has the right to pursue Hamas. Now he is defending Palestinians as well. Biden says that Israel has a responsibility to protect civilians who are innocent in Gaza.

Biden says 30,000 Palestinians were killed in Gaza. “Most of them are not Hamas.”

He turns what could have been a bipartisan moment, into an attack by the hard-left on Israel.

He now orders the U.S. Military to build a Port in Gaza, a crazy move.

UPDATE: 10:21 pm ET:

Biden has taken the lead in gun control. Biden’s extreme partisanship continues. Now he’s attacking “my predecessor” repeatedly. It’s amazing to see a president shout at his general election opponent and predecessor in a State of the Union speech this year.

Biden calls for a “ban on assault weapons” before claiming that “none [of this] violates the Second Amendment.”

UPDATE: 10:17 pm ET:

Just now, a heckler was led from the chamber. Uncertain what he was shouting at Biden.

UPDATE: 10:14 pm ET:

Biden concludes his section on immigration with a passionate plea to Congress for him to get the dead border legislation now.

He then immediately switches to more partisanship in regards to election issues and voting right. This is the most partisan State of the Union Address in history.

UPDATE: 10:12 pm ET:

Biden continues to attack Trump directly by calling him “my successor.” The president, who is having a coughing match, attacks Trump with fake immigration attacks. This is crazy.

UPDATE: 10:10 pm ET:

Biden attacks Trump and then trails off
