Sen. Tom Cotton Calls Kamala Harris the Iranian Ayatollahs’ ‘Handpicked Candidate,’ Calls to ‘Let Israel Win’
Tom Cotton, a Republican senator from Arkansas, said that Vice President Kamala Harris was the “Ayatollahs hand-picked candidate” of Iran. Cotton called for the removal of “all Hezbollah leadership” and insisted the United States should “let Israel win” over Tehran’s main terrorist proxy.
Cotton, who is a member of the Senate’s armed services and intelligence panels, said in an interview with CBS News Face the Nation on Sunday that he was opposed to any attempts at a ceasefire or deescalation in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
He argued that the U.S. should now support Israel to neutralize the remaining capabilities of Hezbollah.
He pointed to Hezbollah’s arsenal of more than 100,000 rockets and missiles that are aimed at Israel. He said that the recent Israeli attacks have “devastated Hezbollah’s entire leadership structure,” including Hassan Nasrallah, the group leader.

Cotton said that the U.S. must support Israel’s efforts to completely destroy Hezbollah. He argued that the destruction and decapitation of the group’s leadership, military capabilities, and other assets would make Iran vulnerable.
He added that Hezbollah was “on its backs.”
He added that the United States “should help Israel to drive Hezbollah into the ground, choke it out and finish it once and for all,” insisting on “letting Israel win.”
Cotton responded that he would support a ground invasion by Israel into Lebanon if necessary to eliminate Hezbollah’s remaining forces.
He replied, “Yes, I agree, if that is what Israel must do to eliminate Hezbollah leadership and its arsenal.” Cotton stressed the importance of destroying Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in order to prevent future threats. He added, “All of Hezbollah’s leadership, as well as all of its weapons, must be destroyed.”
Cotton also criticised the Biden administration’s response to Iranian aggression. He cited Yemen and the Red Sea as areas where U.S. sailors were left vulnerable by Iranian-backed forces.
The United States must be more aggressive in its attacks on Iran’s terror forces in Yemen, where Joe Biden & Kamala Harris had our sailors laying around like ducks in the Red Sea. Once we have eliminated all of these terrorist proxy forces, Iran will be exposed and no longer be able to threaten Israel, America, or our friends in the region. We need to support Israel and let Israel triumph, instead of making these inept demands for ceasefires or de-escalation that Kamala Harris & Joe Biden continue to make for the past year.
He called President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’s approach one of appeasement. Noting that “from the moment Joe Biden or Kamala Harris arrived at the White House there were threats to Americans,” he urged a stronger U.S. reaction.
“Iran, its proxies and our troops have been attacked over 100 times and we barely ever retaliated.” He explained that there have been ongoing attacks against us. “Again, like Israel, we must support them in their fight against terrorists. We should also be more aggressive.”
He then attacked the failed Biden administration’s approach to Iran.
“But this is Kamala Harris and Joe Biden policy.” He said that they have appeased the Ayatollahs from the beginning. “Kamala Harris opposed Donald Trump’s attack that killed Iran terrorist mastermind Qasem Solimani in 2020.”
He also accused the Biden Administration of encouraging Iran’s actions.
Over the past four years they have given away tens and tens billions in sanctions relief. He said they had looked the other direction as Iran broke sanctions. “They have consistently put more pressure Israel than Iran’s terrorist proxy.”
He added: “That is why Kamalah Harris was chosen by the Ayatollahs, and that’s why they’re hacking Donald Trump’s campaigns and trying to kill them.”
This comes just hours after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s death was confirmed, President Biden again called for a ceasefire on Saturday night.
