Trump reclaims presidency with pledge to bring ‘golden age’ to America

Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States was sworn-in Monday, capping off the most incredible political comeback after surviving multiple indictments, a criminal conviction and two assassination efforts.

Trump was the first President in 40 years who took his oath in the Capitol Rotunda due to the freezing temperatures in Washington.

He turned the page on the Biden years. He had already signed several executive orders to dismantle the legacy of his predecessor. Among his executive orders, he re-started construction on the border wall, withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accord and resumed U.S. oil and gas drilling.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Trump stated that “the Golden Age of America is now.” From this day on, our country will flourish again and be respected all over the globe.

Senate Conservatives Fund is fighting to confirm Trump’s cabinet nominees, but Chuck Schumer and the Left are attacking hard. Stand with Senators Cruz, Lee, Hawley, and others as they battle for America’s future!

John G. Roberts Jr., the Chief Justice of the United States, administered the oath to Mr. Trump with his wife Melania Trump holding the Bible in front of him.

This moment was the culmination of Mr. Trump’s comeback, after what seemed to be the end his unlikely political career in the year 2021. Trump refused to attend President Biden’s inauguration that year after refusing acknowledgement of his loss. He returned to his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida as a twice-impeached President whose supporters rioted on Jan. 6, 2020, at the Capitol to stop certification of Mr. Biden’s win.

He joined Cleveland, the only other commander-in-chief to have served nonconsecutive term.

Mr. Trump claimed divine intervention. He claimed he had survived an assassination in Pennsylvania during the summer so that he could lead America to prosperity.

In his Rotunda speech, Mr. Trump stated that “my life was saved because of a good reason.” “I was saved to make America great once again” by God.

J.D. Vance took the oath to serve as vice-president. Vance, who also rose to the top of U.S. Politics from unlikely beginnings, overcame an adolescent childhood and a drug-addicted mom to become a Yale Law School Graduate, bestselling writer, and U.S. Senator before joining Mr. Trump in the White House, was a child with a drug addicted mother.

Mr. Vance put his hand on the King James Bible which belonged to his great-grandmother. Brett M. Kavanaugh, Supreme Court Justice, administered the oath.

The drama was heightened by the presence of former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as George W. Bush.

Mr. Trump has replaced Mr. Biden. His single term had been plagued with accusations of incompetence, and slow responses to crises, such as the record-high inflation rate, the botched withdrawal of U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan, and Hamas holding American hostages in the Gaza Strip.

Although Mr. Trump acknowledged past presidents, Mr. Biden included, he made it clear that he would use his first few weeks to denounce the former president.

He said that Mr. Biden was a target of his attack by stating that leaders pour money into foreign countries while North Carolina is suffering from hurricane damage and Los Angeles has to deal with raging flames.

He said, “I’ll put America first.”

Mr. Trump has pledged that he will issue over 200 executive orders on his first day. The executive orders will reverse many of Biden’s climate policies, including the electric vehicle mandate and participation in the Paris Climate Accord.

Trump will also overhaul the immigration enforcement. He will reinstate his travel ban that barred people from primarily Muslim countries from entering America and suspended refugee admissions to the U.S.

“I have no greater responsibility than to defend our country against threats and invasions,” said Mr. Trump. “We will do this at a level no one has seen before.”

Mr. Trump claimed that allowing for new oil and natural gas drilling could bring down the price of energy and would allow the U.S. fill its strategic reserves, while also exporting energy. He also promised to scrap Mr. Biden’s emission rules, otherwise known as the “electric vehicle mandate.”

He said that the liquid gold beneath our feet would help. You’ll be able buy the car you want.

Washingtonians coveted tickets for Rotunda seats. Former and current lawmakers joined the Cabinet nominees of Mr. Trump, technology billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, and foreign leaders including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Melons and Argentinean President Javier Milei.

Rupert Murdoch, Joe Rogan, Rupert Murdoch, and former New York City mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani attended. Some governors had to be relegated in the Emancipation Hall overflow area.

After the meeting, Mr. Trump stopped in to make some freewheeling comments. He praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott compared the crowd in the overflow to the Rotunda elite crowd.

“You’re better looking than them and you’re stronger than them. And I love you,” said Mr. Trump.

The Democratic National Committee claimed that the seating arrangement for elites was an ominous signal.

Alex Floyd, DNC Rapid Response Director, said that Donald Trump had done the same thing during his inauguration. “After packing his Cabinet with billionaires he did the exact same thing at the inauguration – leaving his supporters out in the cold whereas billionaires worth more than $1 trillion were given a front row seat.” “Trump’s priorities are clear from Day One. He will always put himself and his ultra wealthy backers before the American people.”

Carrie Underwood sang “America the Beautiful” but there were some technical problems. Christopher Macchio, an operatic singer, sang the national anthem.

The Rotunda Ceremony was the highlight of a day filled with festivities and executive orders.

After the inaugural ceremony, the president and Mr. Biden left the White House in a limo together. The lawmakers then hosted a traditional Capitol Luncheon to celebrate the new president. Mr. Trump then joined his supporters at a lively rally in the Capital One Arena, downtown Washington. The rally began with military drums and brass fanfares.

Mr. Trump entered to the chants “USA!” USA!” He gave his trademark fist pump. He sat with Mrs. Trump who was wearing a navy and white hat.

The ceremony of his swearing in was a stark contrast to the inauguration. Trump came to power despite losing the popular vote. He won by a slim margin in the Electoral College. He was a political novice without strong connections in Congress, and took an incredibly long time to put his Cabinet in place.

After a landslide victory in the Electoral College over Vice President Kamala Harris and after winning all seven swing state votes, Mr. Trump will be returning to office.

His win was based on a large margin amongst his White rural, working-class and rural base. He also made significant gains with Black and Hispanic votes.
