Netanyahu: Israel Prepared for ‘Intense Action’ Against Hezbollah

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, warned on Wednesday that Israel was prepared to intensify its military campaign against Hezbollah.

“We are ready for intense action in northern Israel.” Netanyahu promised that “we will restore security in one way or another” during a visit to the northern border, and the areas severely damaged by Hezbollah’s attacks over the past few days.

“We promised at the beginning of the war to restore security both in the south and north, and we are doing this.” Today, I am at the northern border along with our brave fighters, commanders and firefighters.”

“Yesterday, the ground here burned and I’m glad that you extinguished the fire. But the ground also burnt in Lebanon.” “Whoever thinks that he can harm us and we’ll respond by sitting our hands, is making a huge mistake,” said the Prime Minister.

Netanyahu’s trip followed visits by the Defense Minister Yoav Galant, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt. General Herzi Halevi and other politicians, after dozens wildfires sparked by projectiles fired by southern Lebanon destroyed large areas in the Galilee & Golan Heights.

Israeli media reported that the Israeli government has approved a rise in the number of IDF reserve soldiers who can be called from 300,000.

After the Hamas invasion of October 7, IDF activated 287,00 reservists. Most have now been released. It was the biggest call-up ever in Israel’s history.

Later, military officials told Kan News the decision to raise the reservist cap was not directly related to the situation in northern Egypt but was a response to operational requirements during the ongoing Rafah operation.

Hezbollah also continued to attack northern Israel Wednesday morning. The IDF reported that it intercepted suspicious aerial targets in the vicinity of Metula, and another at an unknown location.

The two targets, which were most likely drones that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, were both shot down without causing any damage or injuries.
