Radical Enviros Backed By Rich American Liberals Deface Stonehenge

Social media footage shows that two hardline climate activists vandalized Stonehenge, in the U.K. on Wednesday as a protest.

Video of the incident, which was uploaded to X, formerly Twitter, shows that activists affiliated with the U.K. group Just Stop Oil sprayed orange paint on the prehistoric monument, presumably to bring attention to climate changes.

Just Stop Oil, a similar-styled organization that uses confrontational tactics to get its funding from the Climate Emergency Fund is just one of a large number of organizations with the same style that are funded by wealthy American liberals.

Video footage shows that the two protesters approached Stonehenge and started spraying orange color from containers which looked like fire extinguishers. The activists were restrained by passers-by after they had caused significant damage to Stonehenge.

The U.K. government-in-waiting has pledged to implement Just Stop Oil’s original demand that ‘no more oil and gas’ be produced. However, this is not sufficient. Continued burning of coal, oil and natural gas will lead to the deaths of millions. Just Stop Oil stated that the protest was a reminder to all to unite to protect humanity. Just Stop Oil demands that the next government sign a legally-binding treaty that will phase out fossil fuels in 2030. Stone circles are found all over Europe, showing that we have always worked together across great distances. We’re building on this legacy.

Stonehenge, located in southern England is one of the world’s most famous prehistoric sites. According to English Heritage, the first pillars of Stonehenge were built during the Neolithic Age some 5,000-years ago.

Just Stop Oil has also attracted attention in the past for similar stunts, such as blocking streets, disrupting sporting events, and trying to vandalize culturally significant objects, like the Magna Carta. The group’s tactics, however, have sometimes drawn the ire other citizens. One group called “Just Stop Pissed Everyone Off” has effectively blocked Just Stop Oil demos in the past.

CEF is the primary funder of the A22 network, an international coalition of similarly-confrontational climate activist groups that counts Just Stop Oil among its members, according to CEF’s website. CEF is funded by wealthy liberals in the United States, including Abigail Disney and Aileen Getty’s charitable foundation, as well as Hollywood stars Adam McKay, Jeremy Strong, and Adam McKay.
