According to a new list, trouble could erupt in Portsmouth, Birmingham Oldham, Nottingham, and Sheffield.

In a few hours, violence could erupt in 18 towns and cities, including Blackpool Southampton Stoke and Wigan.

Telegram, an encrypted messaging application, has circulated a revised list of places where trouble could erupt tonight (Wednesday August 7).

On Tuesday evening, the list was reduced from 38 to 18.

Police sources say that chaos broke out in Birmingham, Belfast, and Plymouth, among other places, with over 400 people being arrested as a result.

This number is expected continue to increase in the next few days. It is believed that there were 46 charges made on Monday, and 18 over night.

The police are said to be keeping an eye on reports that at least 30 gatherings will take place today. They are expected to begin at 8pm. Express.co.uk saw a message on Telegram that listed 18 places where trouble could erupt.

Blackpool, Bolton and Brighton are among the most popular.

In the UK, police forces have stated that they are ready for such gatherings. An extra 6,000 officers will be on standby. Thames Valley Police has said that if any planned protests, or spontaneous incidents, escalate into violent disorder as seen in other parts of the country they will respond “rapidly and robustly”.

Cleveland Police announced that it would have a greater presence in the coming days. They will be reassuring residents and talking to the public about any concerns they may have.

Sussex Police has urged residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or concerns. The force stated that it is examining information and working with local and nationwide partners.

Violence has already been reported in some of the locations listed, such as Tamworth, Sunderland, and Bristol.

A dispersal order has been issued in Durham yesterday night following reports of planned disturbances.

Scotland Yard has pledged to protect London against “one of worst outbreaks of violent disorder since the last decade”, and more protests are expected to occur on Wednesday. London is not included in Telegram messages. This could mean that they are not 100% reliable.
