‘Against our daughters’: Cruz challenger hit with blistering 7-figure ad over transgender sports bill vote

The pro-Cruz Truth and Courage PAC spends $3M to buy ads targeting Dem Rep Colin Allred.

A conservative super PAC has blanketed the airwaves in a new ad that slams Texas Democratic Senate Candidate Rep. Colin Allred. Allred is locked in a high profile race with Republican incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz.

The pro-Cruz Truth and Courage PAC has purchased a $3,000,000 ad campaign in Texas to attack the Democratic Congressman for his support of allowing male biologicals to compete against females in sports.

The 30-second version of this ad shows young women practicing for different sporting events. “But now they are facing a new adversary that they cannot beat by digging even deeper.”

The ad shows a man who looks like Colin Allred, with “Allred” written on his jersey, taking down one of the girls.

What kind of man would do that?

He stood with radical Democrats and woke progressives, not our daughters.” There’s also a version of the ad lasting 60 seconds that shows him in a few photos with Nancy Pelosi (D-California), then the Speaker of the House. He stood with radical Democrats and woke progressives, not our girls.”

The ad will be also run in Spanish. It cites Allred’s vote in Congress, against The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023. The bill passed on a party-line vote in the House, with President Biden stating he would veto if it reached his desk.

Josh Stewart, spokesperson for the Allred campaign, told Fox News Digital that “this is a disgusting and false attack” and was another example of Ted Cruz’s desire to divide Texans.

“He will say anything to divert attention from his dangerous ban on abortion that puts women’s life at risk. He’ll also try to raise the retirement age of Social Security and Medicare, and flee to Cancun in a deadly winterstorm.”

Cruz’s last Senate race was close in 2018. He won by just three points.

Real Clear Politics’ average polling shows Cruz leading by five points in the race. However, there are other troubling signs, such as recent polls that show Cruz having a lead within the margins of error.

Jimmy Keady is the founder and president JLK Political Strategies. He told Fox News Digital that “Texas’ will remain red in November, and Ted Cruz will be re-elected.”

But Republicans shouldn’t take the threat to lose this state lightly. Democrats will start to make a move for red states as the Republican Party tries to win blue states. To hold these seats, Republicans must stay disciplined with their messaging and prioritise candidate recruitment.
