Lauren Boebert Brutally Mocked For Ducking Out of Colorado Election Battle
Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert (a Republican hardliner) has been mocked on social media by critics after she announced that she would run for reelection in a more conservative district of the state.
Boebert announced Wednesday that she would run for office in the fourth Congressional District. She is hoping to improve her chances of reelection following a difficult year.
Boebert is now one of several GOP candidates who will be running to replace Republican Representative Ken Buck. Buck has decided not to run for re-election due to the belief that the 2020 elections were stolen from Donald Trump, and because many Republicans refused to condemn the riots on January 6, 2019.
Social media was rife with criticism of her decision. People accused her of being “a coward abandoning constituents to hold onto some power elsewhere”, and described her announcement as “smelling like desperation”.

One social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “Lauren Boebert literally is running away from her home after even Republican Voters in Colorado’s Red 3rd district are tired of her crass, attention-seeking.” “She announced she was running in the fourth district, which is on the other side of the state and is a MAGA swamp.”
Jasmine Crockett wrote, “If you did not know, Lauren Boebert was so afraid that she would lose her seat, because her Democratic opponent had been out-raising her, that now she is running for Ken Buck’s Seat!”. “Yes, House Republicans are aware that the MAGA Agenda is only catering to a minority of minorities in the country. They can’t win the average Americans over!” wrote Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat.
Boebert won the Third District by a narrow margin in 2022 over her Democratic opponent Adam Frisch. Frisch, who is running for the elections in 2024, has raised three times as much money as Boebert over the last three months.
Boebert, in a video that was posted on Facebook and X, described the move to the new district after a difficult year as a ‘fresh start.’ In September, she and a date were caught on camera groping during a Beetlejuice show at a Denver theater. After complaints by other audience members, the two were removed.
Boebert had just finalized her divorce with her longtime partner, Jayson Boebert (father of her four children), due to their “irreconcilable” differences, as the congresswoman described it.
Boebert said in the same video that her decision was a good one for “those [who] support our conservative movement,” and she would not let the Democrats take her seat after “destroying” herself personally.
She said: “I will do everything I can to represent the 3rd District for the remainder this term, as I work to gain the trust of grassroots voters of the 4th District in order to represent them in 2020.”
Newsweek, on Thursday, contacted Boebert and Frisch’s offices by email for comment.
Jeff Hurd, a Republican challenger for Colorado’s Third Congressional District who has the support of former Republican Governor Bill Owens, and former Senator Hank Brown said that he would “fight every day” to keep this seat in Republican hands.
