Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has endorsed Midland University President Ben Sasse for Senate in Nebraska.
Sasse is one of two front-runners in a four-way Republican primary for the seat left open with Sen. Mike Johanns’s (R-Neb.) retirement.
Palin, in her endorsement, called Sasse the “clear conservative choice” in the race, citing a National Review cover story that featured Sasse and labeled him “Nebraska’s ObamaCare Nemesis.”
“Ben knows how dysfunctional D.C. is. He’s witnessed firsthand the corrosive effect bad government policies can have, and he knows that ObamaCare is as bad as it gets. Ben is a leader we need in D.C. now! He won’t forget who sent him there because his life is firmly grounded in his small town Nebraska roots,” she said, in a Facebook post.
Palin’s endorsement makes for yet another from a big-name conservative backing Sasse over his main opponent in the primary, former state Treasurer Shane Osborn.
