Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, conspicuously not among the speakers scheduled for next week’s Republican National Convention, said Saturday she will be busy campaigning for congressional candidates in Arizona.
Mrs. Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate who electrified GOP delegates in St. Paul, Minn., four years ago, won’t be on hand when the 2012 convention kicks off in Tampa, Fla., on Monday.
The former Alaska governor told Fox News on Saturday she is heading to Arizona to campaign for congressional candidates Jeff Flake, Paul Gosar and Kirk Adams.
She said her focus this year is on getting conservatives elected to the House and Senate.
“We need a Congress committed to repeal Obamacare, the mother of all unfunded mandates,” she said.
