Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey Will Sue New York for ‘Lawfare Against President Trump’

I will file suit against New York State for their unconstitutional legal warfare against President Trump, which directly attacks our democratic process. Bailey said on X that it was time to restore the law.

“We must fight back against an rogue prosecutor that is trying to keep a presidential campaign off the road. “It sabotages Missourians’ right to a fair and free election,” he said.

A 12-person Manhattan jury found the former President guilty of 34 counts in May for falsifying documents to pay porn star Stormy Danis ahead of the 2016 elections. The former president is likely to appeal his conviction. It may or may be overturned by the time of the November elections.

Andrew Bailey, the director of the office of the former president, said that in May his office had demanded from the Department of Justice to turn over “communications related to the illegal prosecutions of Trump”.

“I demand that the DOJ hand over all communications related to illegal prosecutions against President Trump. “This includes communications between DOJ and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and New York AG Leticia James and Fulton County DA Fani willis,” he stated.

He added: “It is my belief, based on the evidence I have seen, that Biden’s corrupt Department of Justice was the headquarters of the illegal prosecutions against the President Trump,”

Bailey stated that the investigations of Trump appeared to be conducted in coordination with Department of Justice. He cited the “move of Matthew Colangelo to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office to prosecute the President Trump in December 2020.”

Bailey noted that “In addition to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he worked with New York Attorney General Letitia J. in pursuing civil lawsuits against the former President Trump. He used this experience as a springboard for his current campaign.”

He added that “During the campaign, Bragg had promised to go after Trump if he were elected.’ After he was elected, he vowed to ‘focus personally on the high-profile investigation into former President Donald Trump’s business practices’.”

Fox News reports that Bailey obtained the documents through the Freedom of Information Act.

“Bailey requested all communication, including documents, calendars, minutes, and agendas, related to Colangelo moving to Bragg’s Office.” “He also requested all communications similar to those between DOJ, Bragg’s office and that of New York Attorney-General Leticia Jam and Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis,” the report noted.
