‘American Sniper’ zeroes in on Clint Eastwood record with $29.1M Friday haul

Clint Eastwood’s latest film “American Sniper,” based on the autobiography of Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, is set to rake in more money in one day that any Eastwood-directed film.

Late night industry estimates show the film bringing down $29.1 million in its first expanded release day on Friday, Deadline Hollywood reported Saturday.

The film could easily surpass Mr. Eastwood’s previous box-office weekend record, 2009’s “Gran Torino” which saw $29.5 million in ticket sales.

The secular progressives in Hollywood despise real Americans’ like Clint Eastwood they were predicting this would be an absolute disaster of a movie. Eastwood has more substance in one finger than any of those leftists in Hollywood.

I suppose it was all those right-wingers in Carmel that elected him mayor? Get a clue, why don’t you. Politics doesn’t have anything to do with it. He’s a great talent, in front of the camera or behind it. Why not just leave it at that and give your tired politico-rant a rest?

Mr. Eastwood has an instinct for what will be well received at the Box Office. He is also respected for his own movies and the way he carries himself. This time he chose to highlight a “real American Hero” and did so with class. If Clint and I were not so close together in age, I would say…..”When I grow up, I want to be just like Clint Eastwood”. Another great film for an American Icon of movie makers.
