Appeals court allows Texas to begin enforcing tough new abortion restrictions

A federal appeals court Thursday gave Texas permission to fully enforce a sweeping abortion law signed by Republican Gov. Rick Perry last year that would effectively close all but seven abortion facilities in America’s second-most populous state.

Two years ago, Texas had more than 40 abortion facilities. Many clinics have already closed under a part of the law requiring doctors who perform abortions to obtain hospital admitting privileges, and now more than a dozen remaining clinics are set to shutter as well.

The decision by a panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court in New Orleans wipes out what was a fleeting victory for abortion rights groups — a lower court in August blocking requirements of the law that say clinics must meet hospital-level operating standards to stay in business.

Way to go Texas!! Great news! Now all those pregnant illegal aliens and poor people will have to have their babies, and they’ll go on welfare and child assistance and all kinds of taxpayer-provided benefits. You did it Texas! You should be proud.

I’ve got news for you… those illegals are ALREADY on welfare in AZ!!! they work illegally, drive illegally, get medical care free and illegally, put their kids in school illegally AND are fighting for FREE college tuition while we pay the bills!!! WE MUST secure the borders… round up illegals and return them to wherever… put American citizens first and, most importantly, reward those who are playing the immigration game correctly. They have applied, completed forms, have homes and jobs waiting and do NOT stand on main street rubbing their crotches and waving stamp vouchers (that we paid for) in the taxpayers faces!!!

Were you responding to my comment? It doesn’t seem so.

One other question, Dot. Since no one seems to talk about all the adult boat people making their way to Florida from Cuba, I’d like to know what you think should be done with those people? What do you think the Cuban-American community in Miami would say?
