FBI Returns Boxes from Mar-a-Lago Classified-Documents Search to Trump

According to the White House, on Friday, President Donald Trump received boxes that were taken by the FBI during its search at Mar-a-Lago to look for classified documents.

The FBI has returned to the President the property that was illegally and unlawfully taken. “We are taking the boxes and loading them on Air Force One today,” White House Communications director Steven Cheung stated.

As the president was preparing to depart for his Florida private residence, White House staffers were seen loading approximately 15 boxes onto Air Force One. Uncertainty surrounded whether the boxes held classified documents. Trump was still happy to have his property back.

The Department of Justice just returned the boxes about which Deranged Jack Smith had made so much noise. “They are being transported to Florida and someday will be part of Trump Presidential Library”, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Justice won out in the end.” I have done nothing wrong. It was just an attempt to attack a political rival that did not go well. “Justice in our country will be restored.”

The FBI seizes 33 boxes in August 2022 during its raid on Mar-a-Lago. This was part of an investigation into Trump’s alleged mishandling classified documents, and his alleged obstruction to officials trying to get them after his first term as president. Jack Smith, a Justice Department Special Counsel who filed charges in the year 2023, led two investigations into Trump. One was based on allegations that Trump mishandled classified documents and obstructed officials’ efforts to obtain them following his first presidential term.

Trump has repeatedly called the investigation a “witch-hunt” that was politically motivated because it took place during his reelection bid in 2024. Smith has been called “deranged”, and the president took action against him. Trump signed an Executive Order on Tuesday suspending active security clearances for a law office that represents Smith.

Alina Habba is a Trump advisor who has also criticised the former special prosecutor. “Jack Smith no longer.” She told reporters that they were in the Oval Office. Habba, who represented Trump before, said: “Frankly this was a fake, as we all knew.”

Smith resigned before Trump’s return to office in January. Smith resigned in January, before Trump returned to office.

Smith attempted to revive the case after Florida Judge Aileen A. Cannon dismissed Trump’s case involving classified documents last year. Cannon found that Smith’s appointment, and the funding of the case, violated constitutional laws.

Trump has pleaded guilty to 40 felony counts in the case of classified documents. In a superseding indictment, it was alleged that Trump and two co-defendants conspired to delete security footage from Mar-a-Lago before the FBI raid so as to conceal staff moving boxes of documents. Justice Department dropped charges against Trump’s co-defendants Walt Nauta & Carlos De Oliveira.

Kash Patel is now the FBI’s new director. He wants to revamp the bureau, focusing it on fighting terrorism and violent crimes instead of politicized investigations. Patel, a close Trump ally was narrowly confirmed last week by the Senate.
