Harris seeks to win over Republicans uneasy about Trump with visits to Midwestern suburbs

Kamala Harris, a Democrat, is trying to win suburban voters who are uneasy about Donald Trump. She will be landing in three battleground Midwestern states on Monday and holding moderated discussions with Republican Liz Cheney.

The vice president is scheduled to make an appearance in three suburban counties that were won by Republican Nikki Haley, before she stepped down from the GOP nomination race: Chester County, Pennsylvania, Oakland County, Michigan, and Waukesha County Wisconsin.

Cheney is Harris’ traveling companion. She is a former Wyoming GOP congresswoman and fierce Trump critic. The conversations between the two will be moderated a conservative radio show host and a GOP Strategist.

The Democratic candidate is seeking support from all voters, with just two weeks left before the presidential elections and the race in a deadlock. Her campaign hopes to convince those who are still undecided, mobilize Democrats considering sitting out this election, and win over voters in areas that Trump’s support may be fading.

Bulletproof Vests for IDF Commandos

You have the chance to LITERALLY save the lives of Israel’s most elite soldiers. I just got a request from an elite commando unit fighting against Hezbollah. They need 40 custom-made bulletproof vests designed specifically for Israel’s special forces. We need to raise $54,000 to purchase these vests. Will you help the Genesis 123 Foundation provide life-saving body armor for some of Israel’s elite troops?

Few votes can add up to a big win. Haley, for instance, won over 9,000 votes in Waukesha county, even though she had dropped out of her race. Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election was decided by only 20,000 votes. Early voting begins in Wisconsin on Tuesday.

Charles Sykes, conservative radio host, editor-in chief of The Bulwark and GOP strategist Sarah Longwell will also be present at the events.

Cheney has endorsed Harris due to her concerns over Trump. She lost her House Seat after she cochaired the congressional committee that investigated riots at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A violent mob made up of Trump supporters had broken into the building, beaten and bloodied police officers in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the certification for Biden’s presidential victory.

Cheney isn’t the only Republican who supports Harris. Last week, more than 100 former GOP officials and officeholders joined Harris in Washington Crossing in Pennsylvania. This is not far from the place where Gen. George Washington led thousands of troops across Delaware River in a major Revolutionary War victory.

She told GOP supporters at a rally in the area that the patriotic option was to vote Democratic.

The vice president is focusing more on Trump’s lies about the 2020 election, and his involvement in violent mobs’ failed attempts. She claims that Trump is “unstable”, “unhinged”, and would destroy democratic norms, if he were to be given another term in the White House.

She says that Donald Trump, at her rallies: “I believe he is an unserious person. And the consequences of his ever getting back in the White House will be brutally serious.”

Trump is trying to minimize violent confrontations on Jan. 6, claiming that it was a “day of love for millions.”

Harris will return to Pennsylvania on Wednesday, for a CNN Town Hall in Delaware County. She will answer questions from voters.
