James Biden given loan, didn’t provide services to Americore despite promises to use last name, trustee says
Fox News learned that James Biden, brother of Joe Biden and former Vice President, did not provide any services for Americore, despite receiving a $600,000.00 loan from the struggling health care company. The company had promised to use his name in order to attract funding from the Middle East. This never happened.
Carol Fox, Chapter 11 trustee of Americore, the financially distressed hospital operator spoke to members of the House Oversight Committee during an interview. She described Americore’s relationship with James Biden.
Fox claimed that the loan was given to Biden without any documentation, in exchange for the promise of Middle East funding which never materialized. She sued Biden for making “representations” that his name, “Biden,” could ‘open the doors’ to a large investment in the Middle East because of his political connections.
In the lawsuit, Americore was demanded to pay back $600,000. Fox told the committee that she had not seen any records or documents pertaining to the loan.
Americore sent a $200,000 loan to James Biden’s personal account on March 1, 2018. The same day, James Biden sent a check for $200,000 to the president from his personal account.
James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee in October, said that President Biden should answer two immediate questions for the American public: Does he possess documents proving that he loaned such a large amount of money to the brother and what was the financial agreement? Did he make similar financial arrangements with family members who made similar large payments to Biden?
Fox reported that the money paid to President Obama could have been a result of two sources: predatory lending or money stolen from senior citizens and fraudulently invested by James Biden’s business partner Michael Lewitt.
Comer said previously that it was troubling that Joe Biden’s brother would be able to pay back his brother if his family’s financial dealings were successful.
Fox News Digital reported that a source who was directly involved with the interview said that Fox had no proof of President Biden’s involvement in his brother’s business affairs.
She also said that the $350,000 settlement she reached with James Biden is fair and equitable.
