Trump campaign trolls Harris, releases policy website for her after weeks of silence
The Trump campaign told Fox News Digital that Kamala Harris had not yet revealed her policies to voters.
Fox News Digital has exclusively learned that Vice President Kamala Harris did not release a page detailing her policy positions on important issues, such as immigration and the economy, on her campaign’s website. This prompted the Trump campaign, to create and launch a platform website specifically for her.
“Kamala Harris is yet to explain her policies, so we decided to help.” A Trump campaign press secretary said that the website was designed to show how Harris wanted to raise taxes, open borders and free criminals.
The site, kamala2024policies.com, launched Wednesday morning on the third day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and takes viewers to a website declaring, “Kamala Harris’ dangerous policies are nothing to laugh about.” The site details nine policy platforms for the Harris campaign, including declaring Harris fought “to set murderers free,” wants to “abolish the border,” seeks to “eliminate private health insurance” and wants to give illegal immigrants Social Security and Medicare.
“Border Czar Kamala Harris has opened the southern border for illegal alien criminals, and deadly fentanyl. As vice president, she was the tie-breaking voter for far-left budget bills that increased taxes and sent prices soaring for families throughout the country.” “While Harris has attempted to rewrite the history of her extreme record, it is impossible to hide her promises to free murderers, destroy America’s border protection, increase costs with massive spending measures, bring back Green New Deal Scam and eliminate private health insurance,” states the website.
The website of the platform hits Harris’ camp hard on the issues that are most important in this election cycle, including the economy and spiraling inflation.
The website says that “record-high gas prices are the price to pay for democracy.” Remember, Kamala delivered the deciding votes which allowed the $1.9 trillion stimulus to pass. The website states: “Don’t listen former Obama economist Jason Furman who said that the spending bill was ‘too large’, former Obama and Clinton economic Larry Summers who said that the ‘tremendous walls of money’ caused inflation, or Steven Rattner who called Kamala’s $1.9 trillion stimulus program ‘the sin original’ of inflation.”
The Trump camp has said that the middle class will have to pay more taxes under a possible Harris administration.
The site states that “Kamala Harris is trying to get rid of the Trump tax cuts. This would result in a huge tax increase for middle-income families.” “Harris voted for the Inflation Reduction Act which reduced the average after-tax income of taxpayers in every income bracket. Americans earning less that $200,000/year will see their taxes increase by $16.7 billion between 2023 and 2024.
Harris announced a few economic policies in the past week. These included plans to increase the corporate tax rate and implement federal price controls for groceries and everyday items. However, the official campaign website has not provided any details on these policies. The website of the campaign features biographies for Harris and her running-mate, Minnesota Governor. Tim Walz as well as buttons for donations and a store.
Harris and Walz will be in Chicago, this week. Thousands of DNC supporters have gathered there. Harris rose to be the leader of the Democratic ticket in the last month, after President Biden stepped down from the race due to mounting concerns about his mental acuity. He endorsed Harris shortly after he dropped out.
Harris, despite being the presumptive candidate of the party for 31 days, has not held a press conference nor sat down with the media in order to explain her vision of an eventual Harris administration. Instead, she has held multiple campaign events and rallies around the country. She speaks to crowds but only gives informal remarks to journalists while on tour.
In the past, presidential candidates made their campaign policies readily available to voters. The New York Times reported that a group of advisors created a 110-page document when President Biden campaigned in 2020. The paper also noted Harris’ absence of a platform for her campaign on her website. In 2016, Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State, had 200 policy proposals recorded on a page.
The 2024 campaign site of former President Trump also has a tab called “platform,” where you can find the GOP’s policy agenda, which includes 20 points that cover issues such as the economy, crime and tax reductions.
After avoiding media for weeks, the Harris campaign has been under pressure to host a press event. CNN’s Jim Acosta even questioned Harris’ communications director Michael Tyler on air last week.
I’m sure you have heard this question before, but Trump’s campaign also targets the vice president because he doesn’t do enough interviews and holds no press conferences. Would you kill yourselves to hold a press event? Acosta asked, “Why hasn’t there been a press release?”
Tyler stated that Harris and Walz were “busy,” traveling across the nation, citing numerous campaign rallies.
Acosta told Tyler, “Michael you know that a campaign rally really isn’t a press release.” Why hasn’t there been a presser? She is the vice president and can answer questions. “Why not?”
Tyler said Harris will hold a press event at some point, and sit down with a media outlet for an interview by the end the month.
In recent interviews with Fox News, some supporters of the Harris/Walz ticket struggled to name the vice president’s achievements.
Fox News Digital reported that Bernard, an Independent Voter from New York, who attended the American Federation of Teachers’ Convention in New York last month, said of Harris: “I don’t really know what she did.”
“I don’t know enough about her achievements to answer this question,” said Eric, a Harris-supporter from Massachusetts.
On Monday, the DNC began in Chicago. A few high-profile Democrats took the stage at the United Center and praised Harris while declaring their support for Biden. This was after dozens Democrats had called on him last month to withdraw from the race. Biden, Clinton and New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez have all made solo speeches in support of the Harris/Walz ticket this week.
