Boehner: Pope Francis to address Congress on Sept. 24

Pope Francis will address a joint meeting of the House and Senate on Sept. 24, becoming the first pontiff to do so, House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday.

“We’re humbled that the Holy Father has accepted our invitation and certainly look forward to receiving his message on behalf of the American people,” Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters.

Boehner is Catholic and extended the invitation for the pope to speak to lawmakers.

I’m Catholic and I love my faith with all of my heart. But the Pope has no business talking to Congress unless he is going to talk about the importance of instilling virtue in our culture. But if he is going to push globalist, liberation theology that has become his personal philosophy, he needs to stay home. Also, before anyone goes ballistic regarding the Pope talking to Congress, the Pope only speaks infallibly when he speaks on matters of church dogma and the body of the faith. Otherwise, he is talking Francis.

The President’s breakfast would have been much more appropriate to have the Pope speak..This man has no place in our political system and not all of the nation is Catholic or considers him holy. The congress has many issues to address and needs to attend to the disasters our country is facing..If they feel spiritually down, take it to your church and deal with it, that seems fitting as that is what has been inflicted on the students in this country that our govt and courts have inflicted upon their free choice where praying and speaking about their personal salvation is concerned or even reading their bible.
