Secret Service encourages Trump campaign to stop outdoor rallies

People familiar with the request say that Trump’s campaign is looking for indoor venues such as basketball courts and other large areas where thousands of people could fit.

Secret Service officials encouraged Donald Trump to stop holding large outdoor rallies, and other outdoor events that attract large crowds, after the attempted assassination of the former president at Butler, Pa.

Three people with knowledge of the situation said that Secret Service agents expressed their concern about the large outdoor rallies planned by Trump’s campaign in the wake of the shooting.
