The GOP empire strikes back at Gingrich

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The revenge of the Republican establishment is a sight to behold. From one corner to another, those who have tangled with Newt Gingrich, who feel aggrieved toward Newt Gingrich or who fear Newt Gingrich have amassed to stop him. They know how much harder it will be to do so if the former House speaker wins Florida on Tuesday.

The quintessential example of establishment angst came Thursday from Bob Dole, the former Senate majority leader and 1996 Republican presidential nominee. Hours before Thursday’s GOP debate, he released a letter — circulated by Mitt Romney’s campaign — attacking Gingrich and pleading with Republican voters not to make him the party’s nominee. There is much rich history behind that letter.

Dole is just one voice in a chorus of critics who have spoken out. Gingrich’s victory in South Carolina just a week ago sent a shudder through the ranks of elected officials and others who make up the establishment and the conservative elite. Fear of Newt has displaced lack of love for Romney as the dominant emotion among these Republicans.

In recent days, the group has included former House majority leader Tom Delay (R-Tex.) and the caustic Ann Coulter. A trio of House members shadow Gingrich’s events. Others who are prominent in the conservative movement have joined ex-colleagues of Gingrich to sound the alarms.

I watched Hannity when Coulter was going off! So much for any objectivity on her part! The problem with The behavior of both Romney and Gingrich is that that it allowed CNN (Communist News Network) to broadcast a UCF or MMA type slug-fest from the Octagon! Comrade Wolfe Blitzer made no attempts to focus candidates on debate questions but rather threw out chunks of meat to keep the two Pitt-bulls locked in battle. It took the good sense of Rick Santorum to stop the public blood letting.

What this “Debate From the Octagon” did was polarize the swing vote. Friday 1/27/12’s WSJ & NBC poll showed all Republican Candidates trailing Obama in a head to head comparison. Warning!! Don’t poo-poo this poll. It was fair and straight forward. A few more slug fests like this and Barack Obama will get re-elected by a landslide.

At this point, things are salvageable but these two baggage laden insiders have to focus on issues. They both have to start telling America how they will fix the economy and make our foreign policy support our growing economy. Each of these knuckleheads must create a vision for viewers of a rich and powerful America based on a 5% unemployment rate, free market trading with allies and partners (NAFTA), and a shrinking Federal Government. You know, More jobs, higher wages, shrinking trade deficit and a smaller federal government.

ATTENTION ALL T-PARTY PERSONNEL!!! Concentrate your efforts on those 15 or 16 seats we need in congress to make my vision happen!! You don’t even have to give your money to the T-Party! Give your time and some cash to your local candidate; the person that you think is a true conservative and will save this country!!!
