Conservatives using social media to criticize Cambridge Dictionary for changing the definitions of “man” or “woman” in order to include those who identify as another gender.

The traditional definition of woman was based on the belief that women were born with different sexual characteristics.

A man can also be defined as an adult who identifies and lives as a male, even if they were born with a different sex.

Many resisted this change, arguing that it was harmful and inaccurate to reclassify society’s gender and sexuality categories.

Christopher Rufo, a fellow from the Manhattan Institute, tweeted, “Cambridge Dictionary just dropped an updated definition of ‘woman.'”

Rufo also noted that the dictionary used “they” rather than “she” to describe the subject.

“Notice how the dictionary writers use the word “*they* may be”? They don’t know what they are lying about and couldn’t bear to say “she may have was”. He tweeted, “That’s the tell.”

“Ceding linguistic territory over to the radical Left. Rita Panahi, conservative commentator, wrote that there could be many problems.

Mary Rooke, Daily Caller writer, wrote: “F-ing traitors of the truth. The Cambridge Dictionary has the most recent version. We can’t stop them erasing women from our civilization.

Adam Brooks, a British social commentator and author, asked whether women are content with the changes.

“Oh wow! The @CambridgeWords definition of a woman in the dictionary is quite shocking. How did we get to this point? He wrote, “Surely women don’t like this.”

National Review senior writer Dan McLaughin argued that the change is Orwellian. He tweeted, “1984 was not supposed to be a guidebook.”

Cambridge Dictionary’s alteration to the words “woman”, and “man”, reflect a growing left-leaning trend that rejects the previously accepted use of these categories. Fox News published an April report that pointed out the failure of many Biden administration agencies to answer the question “What’s a woman?”
