The campaign of President Joe Biden is in trouble. He is physically and mentally struggling. His campaign looks like he is not running for reelection.

Biden spent almost no time campaigning, fighting for voters and has spent a lot of vacation time away from the White House. Biden could withdraw from the 2024 presidential race before the New Year.

In that case, Democratic Governor. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif. will be prepared to take on the nominee even though his state has fled because of his draconian regulations.

Newsom, despite pledging not to challenge Biden in the presidential race, has reportedly built a fundraising campaign that mirrors those of other candidates.

In the first three months, three PACs affiliated with Newsom have raised and spent millions. The formation of the political fundraising committees gives him the opportunity to explore the possibility that he might run for the White House without having to announce it.

Newsom has a limited amount of time to decide if he will run for office or if Democrats want to replace Biden on the ballot.

Biden’s vulnerability to former President Trump is a result of the growing scandals and mental declines of the president.

Brendan Glavin, Senior Data Analyst at Open Secrets, said that if someone was interested in starting a presidential campaign these would be the first steps they’d take. “I wouldn’t say that it’s in stone but you wouldn’t do all of these things if it wasn’t on your mind.”

Newsom’s PAC and SuperPAC each had $6.2m at the end June. The money that went to the committees was a significant portion of Newsom’s previous campaign funds. Biden raised $2 million through a fundraising event in Marin County, and $1.1 million from email campaigns and in-person fundraising for Democratic parties in Republican states.

Newsom had positioned himself earlier this year as someone who was preparing to announce a run for the presidency.

He agreed to appear on Fox News Sean Hannity where he praised himself for the “wonderful job” he had done in California, but neglected to mention the thousands of people who fled the state and the thousands homeless.

He also visited party leaders and organisations in Mississippi, Arkansas and Idaho.
