The New York Times reports that the reelection campaign of President Joe Biden is trying to secure Taylor Swift’s endorsement to encourage young voters to vote in 2024.

According to The NYT, Biden’s reelection campaign is working to align its message with former President Donald Trump who is expected to be the Republican nominee. However, it is also focusing on social media influencers to help push Biden’s message. The NYT reported that Swift is on the list of possible endorsements. Swift endorsed Biden for 2020 and has 279 million Instagram followers.

The NYT reported that the Biden campaign asked applicants not to include any suggestions about how they would engage with Swift in their applications, as there were too many. The NYT reported that one idea was jokingly discussed and suggested: sending Biden along to Swift’s Eras Tour concert.

Newsom stated in a video posted by TMZ that Taylor Swift is “unique and tall.” “I think that what she did in activating young people to consider they have a vote and should have a say in the next elections is profoundly powerful.”

Biden is trailing Trump in the hypothetical matchups that have been made between them.
