Gavin Newsom Slammed By Border Reporters Over His Visit To U.S.-Mexico Border

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been called out by border reporters this week after he visited the U.S. Mexico border and claimed to have deployed resources to address President Joe Biden’s border crisis.

Estimates suggest that over 10 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. since the Bush administration’s open border policy.

Newsom posted a video selfie to X saying, “We’re down here at border.” “Now, we’re down here, with the National Guard, meeting with Customs Agents, as well Border Patrol, and talking about our partnership. Our 390 National Guardsmen have been working in California, specifically on fentanyl.

Newsom blamed the Republican Party for Biden’s border crisis, claiming they were denying officials the resources needed to solve the issue. Republicans had noted that Democrats have made many proposals that will make the situation worse.

He said, “It is time to stop them from playing politics.” It’s time that Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, stops playing politics and does the right thing.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin who regularly patrols the U.S.Mexico border responded to Newsom’s video by saying: “Haven’t seen one — Not a single — of these CA National Guard troops in Jacumba, where mass illegal crossings are taking place of adult males from around the globe.”

He continued, “BP is so overwhelmed there that migrants wander aimlessly along highways while they wait to be picked up and then call Lyfts themselves.” San Diego now leads the country in illegal border crossings. “I sent Gov. “I sent Gov.

Manny Bayon is the president of the Border Patrol Union’s San Diego Area representation. He told Melugin he has never seen the California National Guard help Border Patrol agents.

Bayon stated that “California governor @GavinNewsom has policies in place which prevent him from acknowledging the large number of illegal migrants who are flooding into California.” This is a way to send a message out to the world that California is a sanctuary. We need to stop the illegal immigration into California. Not by rewarding them with taxpayer-funded programs, but by helping us stem that flow.

“Governor, If you are serious about closing California/Mexico border, you should allow the CA National Guard to assist us in enforcement operations,” said he. I would be happy to give you a tour of the border so that you can see it for yourself.

A border correspondent on X posted that he was at the border, and hasn’t seen “a single CA National Guard in the last week.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Arkansas governor, responded to Newsom’s question: “Did Gavin Newsom start caring about border issues?” “Or is it only five months before an upcoming election that Democrats realize their border crisis as one of their greatest liabilities?”

Former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell called Newsom “Baghdad Bob,” a reference to the notorious propagandist who worked for Saddam Hussein, a former Iraqi dictator.
