As part of a deal, Attorney General Kris Mayes dropped all charges against Jenna Ellis.

Jenna Ellis is a former Donald Trump campaign lawyer who has agreed to work with Arizona prosecutors, who have indicted 18 Trump allies on charges of their involvement in the efforts to subvert 2020 elections.

The Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Ellis’ agreement of cooperation on Monday in exchange for the agreement to drop charges Ellis was facing. She previously pleaded to similar charges in Georgia, and she agreed to make a statement.

Mayes, a Democrat said, “This agreement represents a major step forward in our case.” “I’m grateful to Ms. Ellis, for her cooperation in our investigation and prosecution. Her insights will be invaluable in helping the State prove its case at court.

According to the agreement, Ellis waived her right to self-incrimination in order to provide truthful testimony. Prosecutors claim that Trump and his allies violated Arizona law to overturn his loss to Joe Biden.

Mayes, despite the fact that Trump wasn’t criminally charged with anything, identified Trump as a co-conspirator unindicted who orchestrated the alleged conspiracy. Ellis was joined by former Trump chief-of-staff Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani (former New York City mayor), John Eastman, and Christina Bobb in an April indictment.

After an aggressive grand jury investigation, in which Ellis and Bobb were told that they were not the target of the probe at various times — only to find themselves among the 18 co-defendants.

Ellis and Giuliani worked together in the weeks following the 2020 presidential election. They traveled to swing states throughout the country, promoting flimsy, unsupported claims of electoral fraud, while also pressuring state legislators to replace Biden’s electors for Trump’s. They were unsuccessful but prosecutors saw it as a part of Trump’s multi-layered plan to hold on to power in spite of his defeat.

Ellis, in a Monday statement, said: “I already agreed to cooperate and was told that I wasn’t the target.” “Neither I nor the AG control the grand jury.” Both sides are simply following through on our original agreement: I am telling the truth, and they are not prosecuting me.
