IDF orders more towns to evacuate in Lebanon as rocket barrages target northern Israel
The army claims that they killed 60 Hezbollah fighters and struck 200 targets in the past day.
Israel Defense Forces announced Thursday that its forces have killed 60 Hezbollah members in the last day and the air force has hit more than 200 targets.
Residents of 25 villages located in the southern part of Lebanon were also asked to leave immediately and move north. Nabatieh is one of the biggest cities in the southern Lebanon. Nabatieh, along with several other villages listed on the list, are located north of Litani River. This is the first time Israel ordered evacuations to the north of this body of water viewed as a strategic boundary.
Hezbollah also fired over 75 rockets at Israel’s north on Thursday morning, causing sirens to sound in Safed, Tiberias, and many other Galilee communities, forcing the residents to seek shelter in shelters.

The army reported that many of the rockets had been intercepted while others had hit unpopulated areas. No immediate reports have been made of any casualties.
On Thursday, several drones were launched by the Lebanon towards northern Israel. IDF reported that two drones were shot down in the Western Galilee while another was intercepted by the IDF over the sea near Nahariya. According to the IDF, a fourth plane landed in a wide open area near Nahariya. No injuries were reported.
An explosive drone from Lebanon struck the northern Golan Height earlier in the morning. The IDF didn’t immediately give any further details about the incident.
Iranian media reported on Monday that a Revolutionary Guards consultant had died from injuries sustained during an alleged Israeli attack in Damascus, the Syrian capital. The report identified the consultant, Majid Divani without providing any further details.
In a statement posted on X, Avichay Adriaee, IDF’s Arabic language spokesperson, stated: “Hezbollah’s activities force the IDF into action against them.” The IDF doesn’t want to hurt you. You must leave your home immediately for your own safety. “Anyone who is in the vicinity of Hezbollah’s operatives, facilities, or weapons puts themselves at risk.”
Lebanese civils were told to evacuate and move north. “Attention, do not move south! “Any movement south could put your life at risk,” said the statement, adding that the government would inform civilians of the return date.
IDF warned 28 more villages the day before. The military also warned that vehicles should not cross the Litani River heading south.
The military described the ground operation in southern Lebanon as “limited and localized raids” with the aim of demolishing Hezbollah infrastructure along the border. Officials have stated that the military wants the operation to be over as soon as possible.
The military reported that overnight, 15 Hezbollah members who were holed up in the Bint Jbeil town hall, located in southern Lebanon, were killed by an Israeli airstrike. IDF fighter jets attacked the Bint Jbeil Town Hall in a joint effort with the 36th Division, after several Hezbollah agents were located there. According to the military, Hezbollah used the building as a weapon storage facility.
In a second joint operation, a drone of the IAF struck and killed Hezbollah agents who had been identified by soldiers of the 36th Division firing rockets at Israel.
Two Hezbollah members opened fire on Golani soldiers early Thursday morning in southern Lebanon. Artillery forces quickly identified the two and ordered an IAF drone strike to kill them. According to the IDF, no soldiers were injured in the incident.
In a separate operation, carried out in conjunction with the 98th Division on Wednesday, several Hezbollah operatives that launched missiles into the Ramim Ridge region were killed by an IAF strike.
The IDF reported that fighter jets have struck many more Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon over the past day. These include buildings used by Hezbollah, its operatives and weapons depots as well as observation posts and other infrastructure.
Fox News also published a report where journalist Trey Yingst was embedded with IDF forces as they entered southern Lebanon in recent days and infiltrated a Hezbollah Outpost.
The Fox reporter told the audience that the Israelis claim to have found Iranian weapons in rooms and tunnels like these, which were first smuggled into Syria and then southern Lebanon.
He said that in order to reach the position which was, he claimed, less than one mile from the border the troops had to walk across minefields and difficult terrain.
Lebanese officials confirmed that at least six people died in an Israeli airstrike on central Beirut in the early hours of Thursday morning, after IDF had announced it would be carrying out a “targeted attack” in Lebanon’s capitol.
According to reports, Israel’s strike on Beirut’s parliament was the closest it has ever been to the seat of government. This is the second attack by Israel on central Beirut in a week.
Images of the scene revealed a severely damaged building, with a fire in one of the lower floors.
According to Lebanese officials, the strike also resulted in seven injuries.
Israel’s army issued evacuation warnings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a Hezbollah-held stronghold called Dahiyeh. Multiple strikes have also been reported. These warnings did not cover the area in central Beirut.
IDF troops have been in Lebanon since Monday, when the 98th Division crossed the border. They are destroying the infrastructure of the terrorist group with the goal of returning the tens and thousands of displaced Israelis safely to their homes.
The IDF said it wanted the operation to be over as soon as possible. It reiterated on Wednesday that any house that was used for military purposes by the Lebanese terrorist group would be targeted.
Israel announced its first casualties in the ground-based offensive in Lebanon on Wednesday, naming 8 soldiers who were killed in battle with Hezbollah.
Six commandos died in a gunfight with Hezbollah agents in a village located south of Lebanon. Several soldiers were injured during the incident, and there was a rush to rescue those who had been hurt or killed. IDF troops estimated that they killed over 20 Hezbollah members in the area.
In a separate incident in which a soldier was severely wounded, two more soldiers died.
In a third attack, a combat medical officer from the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade was severely wounded.
