Critics have praised the former president Donald Trump’s performance on Thursday at the Al Smith Dinner as one of his most humorous speeches ever.

Trump lasted about 30 minutes, and took a shot at several attendees including New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), Senator Chuck Schumer(D-NY), as well as himself.

The vice president Kamala Harris has been the brunt of many jokes but she didn’t attend the charity meal. This was the first time a Democrat had skipped the charity dinner since Ronald Reagan slammed Walter Mondale in 1984.

Trump made fun of Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D).

Trump made fun at President Joe Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff as well as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, among others.

PRESIDENT TRUMP said: “It’s a real pleasure to be here with you tonight… And these days, I can enjoy myself anywhere in New York City without being subpoenaed.”

Joe Biden

PRESIDENT TRUMP : “Joe is almost invisible.” He could only be seen less if he were to have a CNN show.

Kamala Harris

PRESIDENT TRUMP : “My opponent believes she doesn’t have to be present, which is a deep disrespect to the event, and especially to our wonderful Catholic community. The last Democrat to not attend this important event in Walter Mondale was not very successful for him.”

PRESIDENT TRUMP : “But, if you wanted Vice President Harris accept your invitation I guess you could have told her that the funds would be used to bail out looters in Minneapolis. She’d be here for sure.”

PRESIDENT TRUMP : “I was surprised when I heard Kamala would not be attending the Al Smith Dinner. I had hoped that she would attend because we love hearing her laugh.

TRUMP: We need new leadership for this country. We have a person in the White House right now who is unable to speak, hardly put together two coherent phrases, and who has the mental faculties a child. But enough about Kamala.
