Russia Launches Massive Aerial Attack on Ukraine

Russia launched a massive aerial assault against Ukraine on Friday, using dozens of drones and cruise missiles.

Herman Halushchenko, the energy minister, wrote on Facebook that Russian forces targeted Ukraine’s power grid.

He said, “The enemy continues to terrorize.”

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that multiple strike drones were launched overnight at Ukraine, followed by swarms cruise missiles in the country’s atmosphere. The report said that Russia used ballistic Kinzhal rockets launched from the air against Ukraine’s west regions.

Quite frankly, we may have won the election, but there’s still a war to be fought and the Left isn’t resting; they’re regrouping. And now that Donald Trump is Time’s Person of the Year, you can be assured their feelings have been exacerbated. They’re not singing Kumbaya in DC just yet. In fact, they’re plotting ways to embarrass him and cause him to fail. Will you join our efforts to fight back and defeat them?. We can’t wait until January 21—that will be too late!

According to reports, the Kremlin was preparing for an attack on Ukraine on Thursday by using its experimental intermediate range Oreshnik ballistic hypersonic missile as a response to Kyiv successfully using U.S. made long-range missiles to hit inside Russian territory.

The threat of a strike Thursday comes a day after Ukraine fired six supersonic missiles made by the U.S. Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, at the Taganrog airfield in the southern Russian region of Rostov.

Sabrina Singh, Pentagon’s deputy press secretary, said at a Wednesday briefing that “[Russian president Vladimir] Putin publicly stated that Russia plans to launch another Oreshnik experimental missile.” It’s possible Russia will do this in the next few days. I do not have a specific date. It’s important to remember that if Russia decides to launch this type missile, it won’t be a game changer on the battlefield.

“This is just another attempt to cause harm and death in Ukraine.” We’ve seen it before. They are trying to use all the weapons they have to intimidate Ukraine. “But, Ukraine continues to receive our support, along with the United States and other partners in the world as they battle every day on the battlefield.”

Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters that Russia would certainly retaliate against the ATACMS attack. This was reported by state-owned media outlet TASS.

Peskov added that the Russian Defense Ministry had made a statement [Wednesday] that was unequivocal, stating there would be a reaction. The response will come as and when Russia sees fit.

He said, “But it will certainly follow.”

Sing stated that an intelligence assessment concluded Russia would use the Oreshnik missile in “coming days.” Russia has only a few missiles, and they have a smaller warhead compared to other missiles launched regularly at Ukraine. They are harder to defend because they move so fast.

Oreshnik was used by Russia for the first ever time last month to strike the Ukrainian city Dnipro. The missile hit its target at incredible speed, according to reports from the ground. Putin said the incident was part of his military strategy and that it was needed to counter Ukraine’s use U.S. made ballistic missiles.
