A ‘Missing’ GOP Rep Has Been Found…and It’s Not a Good Situation
Rep. Kay Granger, R-TX, was AWOL (absent without leave) for several months. No one knew where she had gone. Her “missingness” was made even more obvious by the mountains of votes that were missed. All calls to her office were routed to voicemail. Dallas Express was curious about how Congresswoman Granger voted on the continuing measure when Congress was heading for a shutdown, which was averted. Her office was locked and there were no employees in sight. We know now where she’s been living for the past few weeks: an assisted-living facility that caters to those with dementia.
Granger’s vote record shows that she last voted on July 24, 2024, when she voted against the “Amendment to the House H. Amdt. 1157 (Miller), to H.R. “To reduce the salary of Ya Wei (Jake Li), Deputy Assistant Director for Pesticide Programs to $1.”
Granger, who represents Tarrant County and Parker County in Washington, has not voted since then.
The Dallas Express tried to contact her district office and D.C., but the calls went straight to voicemail. A recorded message by Congresswoman Granger played.

We are sorry that we cannot answer your call at this time. We’re so glad you called. The recorded message asks you to leave your name, number and brief message. Someone from our office will contact you as soon as they can.
After visiting her office, we wanted to know how Congresswoman Granger would vote on the continuing Resolution this afternoon. We found the front door covered with a sheet, the glass was locked and the office empty.

A Granger constituent then shared with us that Congresswoman had been living in a local assisted and memory care home for a while after being found lost and confused wandering around her former Cultural District/West 7th neighbourhood.
Dallas Express visited the facility in order to confirm that Granger lived there, and also to find out how she would vote on the budget bill. Two employees confirmed upon arrival that Granger does indeed live at the facility. We were not allowed to interview Ms. Granger about the current House of Representatives spending debate and whether or not she planned to vote.
Ms. Granger planned to retire when her term ended. She is 81, but still has work to do. The debate over term limits is gaining momentum. The issue of term limits is always a topic of discussion, but now it’s even more relevant because we’re talking about the president of the United States and not a member in Congress. Joe Biden’s mental decline was noticed by his aides from the first day of his presidency. This led to a complex and elaborate cover-up, where unelected officials sometimes signed off on policies.
Since the Biden coup and the Democrats 2024 defeat, we’ve learned everything, and it is disturbing. Biden, who was physically exhausted from his work in Afghanistan and the Abbey Gate terror attack, took a nap while transferring the bodies of American servicemen. He kept Gold Star families waiting for hours.
Ms. Granger has dementia. Nancy Pelosi fractured her hip when she fell down a flight of stairs during a trip with the Congress to Luxembourg. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) fell during a GOP lunch. Term limits may be debated again, but this time with greater urgency. Congress is a haven for Life Alert recipients.
