PA Governor Shapiro ‘ready to work’ with Trump on priorities where they are ‘aligned’

The Pennsylvania governor, where a strong populist support for Trump and domestic energy production is evident, released a statement on Monday.

Gov. Josh Shapiro is ready to work with Donald Trump, says Josh Shapiro.

The Democratic leader in Pennsylvania, where a strong populist support for the president and domestic energy production resonates, released a statement on Monday, congratulating the administration and promising a cordial, but conditional, partnership.

He said: “As Governor, I have the responsibility to serve people in Pennsylvania. I work hard every day to make their lives better and deliver results.” “Over the past two years, I have worked across the aisle, bringing Democrats and Republicans to work together, in order to solve problems, reduce taxes and costs, provide real opportunities in our classrooms and invest in public security, create jobs and grow our economies.

Rabbi Menken here. America has abandoned its moral center. In fact, 83% of Americans agree that we’re in a moral decline. Our nation has replaced Biblical Values with the false idol of humanism and moral relativism, but we’re not staying silent and neither should you. Will you join the Coalition for Jewish Values and support our nationwide efforts to restore the Biblical foundations of America?

“I am committed to the commonsense Pennsylvania priority, and I am ready to work with Trump’s administration where our priorities align to continue our progress in Pennsylvania.”

Pennsylvania’s crucial role in the election cycle of 2024 began with its 19 electoral votes. Both candidates needed these votes to win the White House. On July 13, a man died after an assassin shot at a Trump rally and grazed the president’s ears. A second man was also seriously injured.

Corey Comperatore was a 50-year-old volunteer fire chief who served in Buffalo Township. He died while shielding his family against bullets. Trump paid tribute to the fire chief for the remainder of his campaign, and displayed his uniform at the Republican National Convention.

In his Monday inaugural address, Obama said: “I was saved from God so that I could make America great once again.”

Shapiro rose to prominence when rumors spread that Kamala, the Vice President who had replaced her boss at the last minute on the Democratic ticket, was considering Shapiro as her running mate. Ultimately, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has been selected.

Shapiro defeated right-wing firebrand Doug Mastriano, a Trump-backed rival in 2022 by 14,8 percentage points. In his inaugural address on Jan. 17 2023, Shapiro promised to bring unity to Pennsylvania and leave it “better” than before.

In his Monday statement, he struck a chord that was familiar.

“At the very same time, and as I’ve done all my life, I will defend our freedoms, and I will stand against efforts to undermine them,” he added. “I will continue to work with my colleagues to create a Commonwealth where Pennsylvanians can chart their own path and have the chance to succeed.

“I think there are more things that unite us than that divide us. As the Trump administration starts its work, it is important that we focus on issues of common sense that will bring people together and move our Commonwealth and country forward.”
