On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said to Reuters that he hoped to reach a deal with Donald Trump in order to end the war with Russia.
Trump promised to bring peace to a world that had seen multiple wars waged during the Biden and Harris administration. Zelenskyy told Reuters that he would be open to a deal if Trump asked Ukraine to provide rare earths, other minerals and financial assistance in exchange.
These deposits are worthless. They represent huge sums of money. Zelenskyy stated that we must protect them. “If you are interested in a bargain, then we will only support it.”
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has been going on for more than two decades. Although the Biden and Harris administration provided $175 billion to Ukraine in economic and militarily aid, the conflict is still ongoing. According to Reuters, Ukraine proposed a “victory strategy” last year that included the idea of allowing its allies to invest into its essential minerals.

Zelenskyy, a Reuters reporter, said that Moscow may be able to strike deals with North Korea or Iran, given the fact that Russia controls less than 20 percent of Ukraine’s minerals, including about half of its rare-earth deposits.
Zelenskyy said, “We must stop Putin and protect the Dnipro Region in central Ukraine. It is very rich.”
In a phone conversation just days after his election Trump warned Russian President Vladimir Putin to not escalate the war against Ukraine, reminding him reportedly of the U.S.’s large presence throughout Europe. The phone call with Putin followed a conversation between Trump and Elon Musk, Department of Government Efficiency, as well as Zelensky. In that conversation, the Ukrainian president said he felt satisfied after the meeting.
“We will safeguard those trillions. We will stop Russia from mining minerals that will be later used to create technologies for the three nations of the axis. Americans have done the most to help, so they should also earn the most. They should give this priority in rebuilding Ukraine. “They will”
