Dems fighting Trump’s cuts represent states receiving $231 billion in federal funds

House Democrats are working to stop President Trump’s overhaul of the federal system through a taskforce that could result in lawsuits. The taskforce represents states that receive federal funding of more than $231.5 Billion.
This is approximately 15% of the total funding provided to states and territories.
The Rapid Response Task Force and Litigation Working Group was launched by House Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York. It includes Reps. Joe Neguse from Colorado, Rosa DeLauro from Connecticut, Gerald E. Connolly from Virginia and Jamie Raskin, of Maryland.
Democrats are trying to keep pace with the White House’s rapid-fire pace in issuing executive orders. They have formed coalitions on Capitol Hill, and they have found allied organizations across the country to file lawsuits.

In a letter he sent to his colleagues at the beginning of last week, Mr. Jeffries described the group as a part of “a multifaceted struggle to protect everyday Americans from harm inflicted on them by this administration.”
Mr. Jeffries confirmed to MSNBC Friday that at least 25 executive order issued by Mr. Trump have resulted in more than 65 lawsuits.
Donald Trump and his government are losing. Jeffries stated that we must keep up the good work.
Elon Musk’s team and the Department of Government Efficiency are looking for ways to cut waste and abuse within the federal government. However, many federal employees live and work in the states and districts of Democratic legislators.
USASpending.gov shows that each state’s legislator receives federal funding in the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. New York, for example, gets nearly $90 billion in federal funds, Colorado, over $20 billion in federal funds, Connecticut, over $33 billion in Federal spending, Virginia, over $58 billion in Federal spending and Maryland, more than $30 billion.
According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), the same states also employ tens and thousands of federal workers, with Virginia having more than 341,000.
In the 11th Congressional district of Mr. Connolly, nearly 52,000 federal workers work.
A spokeswoman for Mr. Connolly said that 80% of federal employees live outside the Beltway.
She told The Washington Times that “Trump’s attack will harm all congressional districts and Americans who depend on the federal government” on Saturday.
Maryland is home to more than 326,000 federal workers, of which Mr. Raskin’s 8th district employs 59,000.
New York employs over 187,000 federal workers, including 8,000 in Mr. Jeffries 8th District, while Mr. Neguse 2nd District has just over 7,000 out of Colorado’s 88,000 federal workers.
Connecticut employs nearly 32,000 federal workers, including 6,500 in Ms. DeLauro’s 3rd district.
Requests for comments Saturday were not answered by the offices of legislators from these three states.
Republicans on Capitol Hill have praised Mr. Trump for his recent actions in cutting the federal bureaucracy. They say he is eliminating waste and abuse that has existed within federal agencies. Democrats, however, have criticized these moves as being illegal and unconstitutional.
Connolly said on Thursday that if you view government as an opportunity to make a profit, then you will never serve public interest. Trump’s government will be unable to deliver for the American people if it continues with this mindless approach of cutting the federal workforce, gutting vital programs, and removing protections.
The GOP’s Project 2025 blueprint, which they tried to hide from the voters, will result in devastating service cuts that will affect millions of Americans now and for many years to come. They are public servants who inspect your food and care for our veterans. They also make sure that you receive your Social Security benefits.
Last week, the president made a series of decisions that resulted in thousands of newly hired employees being terminated while they were on probation. Veterans Affairs Department, for instance, said that it had fired over 1,000 non-union workers who were on the job less than two years.
The Trump administration has also offered federal employees who agreed to leave their jobs by Sept. 30, in exchange for receiving a pay increase, the option of “deferred resignation”.
The White House reported that as of Wednesday, approximately 75,000 people have accepted this offer.

Cut all of the illegal or worthless spending funds off no matter who is receiving it. If those funds do NOT benefit the US and its citizens, then end that spending.
