Trump DOJ, Bondi announce creation of Second Amendment task force to defend the Constitutional right

Justice Department Announces New Initiative to Strengthen Second Amendment Rights
In a significant move to bolster the rights of gun owners, Attorney General Pam Bondi has unveiled the creation of a Second Amendment Task Force. This initiative is dedicated to safeguarding the constitutional rights of Americans to keep and bear arms.
“For too long, the Second Amendment, which establishes the fundamental individual right of Americans to keep and bear arms, has been treated as a second-class right. No more,” Bondi stated in a recent memo. “It is the policy of this Department of Justice to use its full might to protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”
Support from Political Figures
West Virginia GOP Representative Riley M. Moore expressed his support for Bondi’s initiative, highlighting the paramount importance of the Second Amendment. “The Second Amendment is the premier constitutional right because it guards all others,” Moore remarked, underscoring the intrinsic value of this fundamental right.
Repeal of the ATF’s Zero-Tolerance Policy
In a related development, FBI Director and acting ATF Director Kash Patel has terminated the ATF’s zero-tolerance policy. This policy had been criticized for allegedly being used to unjustly shut down numerous gun stores and for attempting to create an illegal digital registry of out-of-business records.

“Today’s repeal of the Zero Tolerance Policy and the comprehensive review of stabilizing brace regulations and the definition of ‘engaged in the business’ marks a pivotal step toward restoring fairness and clarity in firearms regulation,” Patel announced. “We are committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure our policies are balanced, constitutional, and protective of Americans’ Second Amendment rights.”
This series of actions by the Justice Department and the ATF signifies a robust commitment to ensuring that the rights enshrined in the Second Amendment are fully respected and protected, reinforcing the government’s dedication to the principles of freedom and individual rights.
