Do you believe federal employees should justify their jobs? My entire adult life, I’ve had to justify my employment. The audacity of these people to think they are better than you—the American taxpayer. For over 40 years in the Marine Corps. Every time I wanted to attain a higher rank, I outworked others, demonstrated my unequivocal commitment to our mission and our nation. I didn’t whine to my superiors. I did it again in the private sector. And I justify my value every two years to the voters in my district. If the 119th Congress doesn’t cut taxes, shrink the size of our federal government, secure our borders and pass policies to reduce inflation, I’m confident we won’t be able to justify to the American people that we should keep our jobs in 2026. You gave us a mandate, and now it’s our job to deliver. The same should hold true for every federal employee, but they want special treatment and that’s not the American way. In every copy of the Constitution I’ve read, it’s the people who have the rights, not those who sought out a cushy government job. Those people serve at the pleasure of the taxpayers and their elected representatives. This is where the rubber meets the road and now, we’ll see who will be left standing. Keep up the fight, Rep. Jack Bergman (MI-1)
