Biden Gets Trounced in Court Again Over Social Media Censorship

The government’s censorship on social media was a major issue in the federal court of appeals Tuesday night. President Joe Biden, and his administration, were beaten yet again. Andrew Bailey, Missouri’s Attorney General, who has been fighting the Biden Administration and protecting all Americans’ First Amendment rights, announced the news on X.

Former Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is now a Republican U.S. Senator. Senator.

The White House disagreed when the Biden administration received an order to cease contacting social media firms earlier this year. They argued that the federal government must censor online speech.

The judge in the case said that the behavior of the administration was “the most significant attack on free speech against the United States’ history.”

In their efforts to suppress disinformation, Judge Terry Doughty wrote that the Federal Government and the named defendants had blatantly violated the First Amendment right to freedom of speech. The censorship in this case was almost exclusively directed at conservative speech. However, the issues raised go beyond the party line. Free speech does not belong to any political party or hold any political ideologie. The purpose of the Free Speech Clause in the First Amendment is to maintain an uninhibited market of ideas where truth will eventually prevail.
