DeSantis Releases Campaign Launch Video; Twitter Launch Crashes App As Servers ‘Strained’
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis tweeted on Wednesday night that he will run for President of the United States.
DeSantis had filed paperwork earlier that afternoon with the Federal Election Commission. He then released his official video on the platform at 6 p.m.
“Our border has become a disaster.” Our cities are infested with crime. Families are struggling to get by because of the federal government. DeSantis stated in the video that the president is a mess. But decline is an option. Success is possible. Freedom is worth fighting for.”
“Righting our ship means restoring sanity in our society, normality in our communities and integrity in our institutions. Truth must be the foundation of our society, and common sense cannot be a rare virtue. “In Florida, we showed that it is possible,” he added. “We chose facts and education over fear and indoctrination. We chose law and order and not rioting or disorder. “We held our ground when the fate of freedom was at stake.”
“We proved that we could — and must — revitalize America. He concluded that “we need courage to lead, and strength to win.” “I am Ron DeSantis and I’m running as president to lead the Great American Comeback.”

DeSantis is expected to focus his campaign on the achievements he made as Governor of Florida. This will be called the “Florida Blueprint,” as well as how he could transfer this experience to a national level, as President of the United States. Recent polls show that former President Donald Trump has a significant lead over the other candidates. The DeSantis campaign hopes to close this gap once his campaign gets underway.
As a result of his handling the COVID Pandemic, the governor began to gain prominence within the Republican Party. This included refusing to follow the Trump administration’s pandemic policy’s leading public health expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci and rejecting draconian “lockdown” measures. In the last two years, as a result of this, California led the nation in net-inmigration.
DeSantis’ conservative agenda has been implemented in large part in conjunction with the state legislature. His office has highlighted several key legislative initiatives, such as the ban on permanent transgender surgery for children, the banning of gender identity politics in school, and the prohibition of sexually explicit performances by adults in front of young children. DeSantis also signed laws that prohibit institutions from spending federal and state dollars on programs promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. He has also supported the expansion of school choice options.
DeSantis has also focused on working against the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG), which is a movement that seeks to “inject woke political ideologies across the financial industry, placing politics over the fiduciary responsibility to make the best decisions for beneficiaries.” Disney was one of the corporations that played a prominent role in his administration, but the governor stripped it of its special state status.
DeSantis also signed into law a heartbeat measure that prohibits abortions the moment a heartbeat is detected. Former President Trump called this “too harsh,” stating that he was a “believer of exceptions.”
One state senator, Joe Gruters, supported the former president. Gruters, who supports Trump, has also pointed out that Florida’s recent move towards conservatism is pronounced. He said that Florida has had conservative leadership for 23 years. However, in the last two years we have passed more conservative legislation than in the previous 20 years and in this year more than in the previous 22 years. “It is a rocketship, a steam-engine.”
James Uthmeier is a former Trump administration official who now serves DeSantis as his chief of staff. He said that he has never seen anyone as hands-on when it comes crafting legislation and passing it. Uthmeier stated that DeSantis “sits and talks through the details of policy and budget.” “He is ingrained into the process in a manner I haven’t witnessed working with the Trump Administration or other public officials.”
