Donald Trump Announces J.D. Vance as Running Mate

On Monday, the former President Donald Trump named Sen. J.D. Vance (R – OH) as his running mate for 2024 on Monday.

The moment was awaited just as Trump received his formal nomination as the Republican Presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Vance, 39 years old, became a senator from Ohio in 2023. He is seen by many as the obvious heir to the America First Movement, which was ushered in with Trump’s 2016 election.

Matthew Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief of Breitbart’s News, reported recently that Vance will be the first Marine on a presidential ballot and the first millennial.

Assassination attempts on Trump on Sat. have highlighted the urgency of choosing a vice-presidential candidate.

Marco Rubio, Senator (R-FL), and Doug Bergum, North Dakota Doug Bergum (R) were also considered.
