Donald Trump boards a garbage truck to draw attention to Biden remark
Donald Trump walked the steps of the Boeing that bears the same name. He walked on a tarmac soaked in rain and, after missing the handle twice, climbed the passenger seat of his white garbage truck.
Former president Joe Biden wanted to bring attention to the remark made by his successor, Democratic Vice President Joe Biden. Biden had said that Trump supporters were trash. Trump used this remark to attack his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.
Trump, dressed in a white shirt with a red tie and an orange-yellow safety vest, asked: “How do I like my garbage truck?” This is to honor Kamala Biden and Joe Biden.”
Trump and other Republicans faced pushback for their comments about Puerto Rico by a comedian who made the remarks at a Trump rally over the weekend. The comedian called Puerto Rico a “floating garbage island”. Trump then took to Twitter to attack Biden’s comment on late Wednesday that “the only garbage floating around are his supporters.”
Afterward, the president attempted to clarify his comment. He said he meant to say that Trump’s demonization Latinos is unconscionable. It was too late.
After arriving in Green Bay for a rally on Thursday evening, Trump got into a garbage truck and had a short conversation with reporters, while staring out the window. This was similar to what Trump did earlier this week during a photo op he staged outside a Pennsylvania McDonalds.
Trump didn’t denounce the joke, which was made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. He tried to distance himself again from Hinchcliffe but failed. Trump also claimed that he didn’t need to apologize to Puerto Ricans.
Trump stated, “I know nothing about the comedian.” “I have no idea who he was. I’ve never seen him. I heard him make a comment, but it wasn’t a comment that he made. What can I say? He’s a comic. “I know nothing about him.”
The former president, Trump, hasn’t addressed the joke himself. A spokesperson for Trump claimed that the joke does not reflect his views.
Trump, seated in a garbage truck, said: “I love Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico loves me.”
“I hope you enjoy this garbage truck,” he told reporters at the end of his brief appearance. “Thank you very much.”
He was still wearing his orange vest when he appeared on stage shortly after.
